Try starting it with the headlights on. When you hear the clicking do the headlights go out? If so, you probably have corroded battery contacts. Clean the battery posts and the cable connectors with a wire brush. If the headlights stay bright the problem is in the wiring to the starter. Take apart and clean all the contacts points to the starter. If that does not solve the problem, get the starter tested.

My 2000 ford f150 won;t start .i replaced the neutral safety switch, it started fine for a while but wont start now. i have to bump start.is there a relay in that circuit?

THERE IS A STARTER SOLENOID LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD ON THE RIGHT FENDER WELL. CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BATTERY VOLTAGE ON THE LARGE RED WIRE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RELAY. IF SO USE A TEST LIGHT ON THE SMALL TERMINAL, YOU SHOULD HAVE POWER TO THIS WIRE WHEN HELD IN START POSITION HAVE SOMEONE HOLD THE KEY IN START WITH CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED WHILE YOU CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE RELAY WITH A TEST LIGHT. IF YOU HAVE POWER THEN THE SOLENOID IS BAD

Park neutral safety switch maybe be the reason for the no crank ! Try putting the vehicle in park ,then try to crank the engine . Testing the electrical circuit is the best way to trouble shoot this problem , along with do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit ! This will test the battery cables an connections .

How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Does it have a manual or automatic transmission ? Manual ? clutch switch . Looking at a wiring diagram I also see a starter cut relay !

Then click the search button , then click the blue link ! Check the starter cut relay also . Videos on youtube showing how to test a relay controlled circuit !

I have a 1988 deville and the starter went, replaced the starter now the car won't start at all, the starter is in right and the relay clicks but it wont start. is there a security lockout that wo

What relay ?
You may have the wire from the key switch on the wrong terminal.
If the car has an anti-theft system the key lock may not be reading the chip in the key.
Can you jumper the starter solenoid and make the starter work ?

My 1990 Honda Accord won't start. I just replaced

i have two things that come to mind first of which is your neutral safety switch ...its located on the clutch pedal ..its to prevent the car from being started in gear it may not be working correctly and wont let power to the started when you turn the key...most likely the problem...the other thing if thats not it you may need to check the ignition switch...

Won;t crank

Hi, if the car engine fails to crank, there is a fault in one of the components in the battery/ignition/starter circuit. Low battery (Check battery voltage, recharge if low, or jump start with another vehicle or battery charger). Bad starter relay/solenoid (Check for voltage at relay, if relay has voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace relay). Bad ignition switch (Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace ignition switch if defective).

2001 Ford Explorer Sport wont start

Even though I bought the vehicle new, there was an aftermarket security system installed. The system had a bad diode, so i removed the system and reconnected the factory wires.
