SOURCE: The car
sounds like you have an ignition missfire, have it put on an analyzer to determine the cause.

If you are looking for the fuse box diagrams or any other diagrams for your Ram, check promanuals.net for a factory service manual for around 20 bucks or so. It's an invaluable tool for my Ram 2500.

1999 dodge up to 02 can shuttle shift in and out of lockup, most people think it is overdrive but it is lockup. It is caused by tps voltage jumping around. You'll find you will not see it on a scan tool. The dealer has a computer reflash, it doesn't fix the tps voltage bounce but it makes the computer not as sensitive about locking and unlocking the converter clutch with small voltage change at the tps. I had my truck reflashed, but on rare occasions it still does it a bit. Voltage bounce can start around 90,000 miles and continue to get worse with milage. It cost about $90.00.

Not too much amperage. HID lights use less amps. Duh. The circuit is showing a failure in the HID kit from not enough amps so it turns off. You need to add a resistor.

It sounds like you're loosing crank or cam siganl to the ECM. Unfortunately on that engine, both sensors are located inside the distributor and are not serviceable, short of a new distributor. I would check all wiring connections first, but more than likely, you've got a distributor about to drop a TRS or SRS sensor. the Stick
