While driving, initially I get a "left passenger door open" warning, the a brake failure warning followed by the dashboard shutting down completely. Help

it sounds like a bad connection to me . open your fuse box and check behind it . leave ignition on and wiggle the wires. if you do find a one that makes the lights flicker take it off and clean the terminal's. also try and reach up behind the dash for loose connection..hope this helps

2002 elantra no power to wipers radio head lights and heat

Please check for codes in the OBD system. Check Battery and Charging System. If no codes perform following test procedure.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Check the Black power connector in the under dash fuse box. Wiggle it with the lights on and see if they malfunction.

2. Wiggle the wiring harness from the ignition switch around the steering column with the lights on and see if they malfunction.

3. Monitor the key on battery voltage from the ignition switch at terminal 3, Red wire at the ignition switch to terminal 3 of connector I/P-E in the under dash fuse box.

4. See if the vehicle has any aftermarket accessories installed that may be tapped into that Red wire from the ignition switch to the fuse box.

Potential Causes With OEM Direct diagrams, components, TSBs, and R&R procedures
Ignition Switch
Output Speed Sensor (OSS)
Power Connector
Radio Wiring

The door chime for the sliding door stays on even when the door is closed

Look underniethe dash for a rectangular black box, older chevs had the chime separate to the radio, yours may be old enough that it still has the chime box. If not, it could be the connection at the door or a bad door latch switch, via a wiring diagram you can find which wire diactivates the chime and either splice it or disconnect it, the system could work with continuity or an open circuit.

good luck!

My 01 deville makes a funny sound under the dash like a clicking noise untill the back air ride stabilizes is that the air pump going bad?????

I have a 2000 deville dts that was doing
the same thing. The problem was the mode door actuator located behind and to the left of the glove box. There is only one there and it is about a 3"x5" black box. Disconnect the electrical connector, two 5.5 mm screws, a little wiggling and pulling straight out, and it's out.

The dash lights turn on and off while driving at night. It appears they will go out and stay out one of these times! What's going on?

Problems of this nature are usually a loose or broken ground wire. The loose wire jiggles & wiggles around when the vehicle is in motion, thus, the wire touches & untouches producing the blinking dash lights.

F250 wont start, got it home by doing this

it sounds like a remote starter, and probable is the problem. depending on the system, you may be lucky enough to unplug the box and everything go back to normal. if it is a passthrough system, you may be doing alot of soldering and shrink wrapping to repair. good luck!

Wiggle the key in the truck when the truck is running. Your losing fuel or spark. Check connections in the fuse panel. Check wiring harnesses for tight connections. Email me back. mobilemechanic01234@yahoo.com, Good Luck Jim

Fan control?

My 99 WJ did the same a couple of years ago. What happen is the electrical plug gets heated over time and looses contact with the pins inside the box that the plug fits into. Mainly because the terminals that push onto the pins inside the box are very light and get really hot. I don't know what it is called but I bet its not cheap! I showed the problem to the local auto sparky and the fix was easy.
1 Remove the plug. (NOTE COLOR OF THE WIRE GOING TO EACH PIN)
2 Remove the box by undoing the two screws and pry off the cover.
3 Solder three heavy gauge wires about 2-3" long directy to the three pins.
4 cover with heat shrink. Refit cover
5 Rejoin to to original wires with heavy male/female spade termials or simply use heavy crimp joiners.
6 Refit box with screws & secure any loose wiring with cable ties.

Fuel shut off relay

Try checking the black box located just above the spare tire on the chasis side alot of the fuel lines go to that box, in my case i just forgot to connect one ground wire that comes from the black box. let me know if this helps you.
