Question about Ford ZX2
Good Afternoon, I'm thinking you have a good excuse if you ever get caught speeding, however I don't believe it would hold up. The good news it is not hard to remedy your situation, it can either be the vehicle speed sensor, which I am doubting because the last couple escorts I worked on in the past few months ended up being the speedometer unit itself. What I would recommend is going to your local salvage yard and tell them the year make and model of your car and the miles (be sure to get something close if not just a hair over) the trim panel comes off from around the intrument cluster and then the cluster itself is held in by 4 screws. remove the 4 screws tilt the column down so it is easier to remove the electrical plug in and then plug in the new one, take it down the road before you put it back together at least have it in place to make sure you did not get a bad one and verify your other gauges are working right too especially the temperature gauge (they are common to go bad as well). Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
