Question about 1993 Toyota Previa

1 Answer

Long story short, there is an electrical problem that partially stems from replacing the original sterio radio/CD player with an aftermarket unit. The original problem was the battery wouldn't hold a charge(also the alarm system would always activate when I reconnected the battery unless I quickly turned the key in the ignition). I was unable to fix this so I resorted to disconnecting one battery post and recharging the battery at night with a trickle charger then quickly turning the key to start the car after I reconnected the battery. This worked OK but the car began running solely on the battery and sometimes would stall and die from lack of electrical power. I replaced the alternator and this fixed the problem for a while, (the battery was getting re-charged with the new alternator). Now the car will not start, even with a hot battery or a jumper battery attached. The instrument lights all come on when the battery is first attached and when I turn the key everything appears fairly normal except the horn doesn't honk (the alarm system is not working now) and the starter doesn't turn the engine over. The instrument indicator lights just dim slightly when I try to engage the starter, but the starter doesn't crank. I ran a quick check of the alternator with the B&D battery charger and it said Fault. What should I do to diagnose or fix

Your battery is suspected to be low in power But check if thegrounding of the battery is tight and the positive terminalis also tight. If not put your battery on charge.
I understand that you are takinga whole lot of trouble to do this routine of charging and connecting.I must advise you to disconnect the drain voltage circuit like the remotecontrol or the car system.connect them to a main switch and put it off in the night. If you cannot rectify the fault of these units. Now after the battery is charged crank and start the engine and measure the charging voltage.Check voltage of alternator to the rectifier regulator module. If charging is low this unit can be defective. If so replace.

E00 is a vague error code used by Honda that indicates a problem with the CD Drive in the head unit. Unfortunately this will require removing and head unit and replacing it with either an OEM replacement or an aftermarket unit.

Car radio cd player error 43

The motor that spins the disk no longer works, disassemble the cd player and replace your cd motor with a new one. Radio shack has them, but I suggest replacing your player with an aftermarket unit like sony, kenwood, audiovox, or any other high quality cd players.

After Market Radio Installation

Hey man, you have an amplified system. use a 70-1858 wiring harness and jump the blue/white wire from the aftermarket radio to the pink wire on the second plug. this will power on the factory amp with the aftermarket radio.

2003 ford expedition, eddie bauer, cd player has stopped working. I took the cd player out. Can I just replace the cd player instead of replacing the whole radio unit? I can't seem to find anywhere to...

Unfortunately not. The first thing I would try to do is get the cd player fixed by an audio store in your area. If it cannot be fixed, you will have to replace your radio unit. Let me throw this at you. I have invested in a whole new sound system in my vehical. I am not saying that all of your speakers need to be replaced, but an aftermarket stereo unit is more fuctional and stylish than than your stock stereo unit. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

I want to change my original cd player for a pioneer

This is because you need to purchase the aftermarket-oem harness plug. This harness plugs into your original equipment radio harness and allows you to plug any aftermarket radio into the stock deck wires. After you plug the harness in you can then connect the radio wires together.Your local autoparts store or circuit city or best buy or audio express will have these radio conversion plugs.I hope I could help

Had the same problem with my 2004. Replaced the stock radio with a aftermarket pioneer unit. If you replace it make sure you by the aftermarket harness so it will plug right in and all your chimes will work.

After Market radio install on a 2001 Passat

Metra makes a preamp harness that you can use if you have the partial Bose system. My A4 had that (where the front speakers were run off of the headunit with speaker-level feed, but the deck put a line level signal to a rear amp to power the speakers). This harness would let you use the aftermarket deck with your factory speakers, if you have the partial Bose system. Best bet is to do a Google search for "Metra 2001 Passat" or something like that and I'm sure it'll show up.
