If the blower blows at all, the blower is working. so the resistor is bad. BUT if it has high miles you want to test the blower and see how many amps its drawing, high amps will kill a resistor.

A/C cuts out if fan on max. speed.2000 Mazda MPV fan very slow in 1,2,3 but powerful in 4. However a/c works in 1,2,3 but with fan on 4 it cuts out and won't restart. Obviously the fan resistor

sounds like a fault with the switch unit for the fan ,to know for sure i would need the offending vehicle in front of me take the switch out and have a play ,also of course threaten it with the lump hammer but all joking apart its difficult to diagnose without a play to determine exactly what the problem is

A/C and blower problem

The speed resistor for the inside fan motor is either open or the relay has stopped powering it.

Air only blows on 4 1,2,3 it doesnt work? My heat doesnt work

Blower resistor failure causes blower to only work on high. Are you saying you are not getting heat either? See both of the below posts and let me know if you have questions.

My 2000 Mazda MPV heater fan works for 4 not for 1

You need to replace the blower motor resistor,it's in the heater box.Number 4 bypasses the resistor and all the other speeds go through it so it's the most likely problem.

Replace the blower resister ,it is located next to the blower motor,it is your speeds,it has about 7 wires plugged into it in one plug, and has two screws holding it in,then see if the ac compressor will stay engaged.

My 2004 Mazda MPV AC does not seem to be working it blows air out but not as cold as it should be - any ideas - it seemed cold enough last week

My 2004 MPV was just diagnosed with a corroded aluminum line to the rear cabin air-con unit. It cost me $50 to get the unit leak-checked. Also got a $700 estimate to replace the line.
