The low pressure evaporative port (green cap) near the firewall,The re-charge port is usually BEFORE the compressor or ON the compressor itself.
Any HOSE or PORT coming out of the compressor is the High side.
There are two ports on the A/C lines. One high pressure (bigger) and one low pressure (smaller). You will add the R143a into the Low Pressure port (smaller port) on the A/C line coming out of the A/C compressor (one that is belt driven). The compressor is usually located in the middle front of the engine.Follow the serpentine belt, the long belt that goes around the components.

----------For ac recharge port:-- Follow the larger hose from the compressor Could be near the drier at the passenger side firewall its located between the evaporator and compressor.--------the other possibility is -- A/C service ports are located on the drivers side of the vehicle in the front, right next to the battery, which is located under the windshield washer reservoir, it will kindof take some contorting to get to it, but thats where GM put it . Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I had the a/c condenser replaced on my 1999 chevy lumina about 2 years ago but, I still have to have it recharged every year...why? is there something else wrong with it that the mechanic missed when he...

There is a leak somewhere, should not have to recharge at all. Might have to use some dye and a blacklight to find it. Do not let the mechanic tell you it is normal to recharge, if he does find a new mechanic.
