2012 Mazda 5 won't start - starer and battery seem OK, the starter cycles, lights etc. work. Gas tank is full, car worked fine yesterday.

When you turn the key to start, what happens ? Does the engine turn over and not start ? Or does it not do anything ?

When you say that the starter seems ok, have you tested it ? Did you jump starter/solenoid and see if the engine turns over ? Are you getting power to the starter when turning the key to the start position ?

Replace starter

two things can happen
first the starter will spin but don't trow the Bendix (shaft) to engage with the flex plate
second flex plate have worn spot and the starter spin on dead spot
turn the engine with hand little and start again.
if the starter work normal the engine will turn.
if nothing happen the starter is bad

How can i tell if my timing belt is working in my 98 kia sephia without taking it apart

If the engine starts and runs, its OK. If the engine turns when you try to start, its probably OK. If the engine won't turn over at all, it could be the starter motor. You should usually hear a click if the starter tries to engage the flywheel. If nothing happens at all, check that the battery is OK. If still no joy, have it towed to the garage.

Solenoid clicks but doesn't turn starter. Tested starter, it's fine. Battery is grounded well. Alternator is still good. Battery brand new. I'm stumped. Help?

The alternator would not come into play until the engine starts.
If the starter works on a test machine, and the battery tests ok, it has to be a connection problem or the engine is stuck.
Can you check voltage at the starter terminals with a meter ?

My 1995 acura nsx starts and just got a new battery and then it wil click and will not start and i have to bump the starter intell in starts is the starter or plug wires

The plug wires have nothing to do with the engine not being cranked over by the starter.

If you hear a single click every time you try to start the vehicle and the starter doesn't not turn the engine over than the starter is most likely the problem.

My 1990 honda civic hatchback wont start...

It could be a problem with either starter if it won't turn over, the wiring to the starter, or it could be related to the fuel or spark delivery when turning over if the starter does turn the engine over.

Car wont start fuel filter ok fuel pump ok

If they engine does not turn over at all then I would check the starter. This can be easy enough to check by locating the starter and hitting it with a hammer or something just not hard enough to break it off and then have someone try starting it while your hitting it. Make sure you are clear from all moving parts of the engine including the fan. If it starts your starter is defective. And should be replaced.

Starter won't engage - won't start.

2nd click could be fuel pump engaging...what about the fuses under the hood... is there gas getting to the engine?? is there a safety shut off switch that needs resetting? have you checked the ground wire?
