I got no spark coming out of a good ignition coil

The pickup coil - stator in the bottom of the distributor sends a signal to the igniter, which grounds the coil.
You may need a shop manual to be able to test the distributor and the igniter.

I have a 1985 toyota pu while driving it just quit. it has no spark, changed the rotor, spark plugs, it is getting fuel any help out there

The pickup coil should probably be changed too since the vehicle is as old as it is, and it is likely original.

Be sure to clean the mounting area for the igniter and use adequate heat transfer/dielectric grease on the metal mounting plate for optimum heat transfer.

Got a 85 toyota pickup..will not start..replaced coil, brain box, and all fuses...still no fire from the coil?

Not sue what you mean by brain box. You may need to replace the ICM the Ignition Control Module that sits right below the coil. Mine cost almost $300 locally, but found them online for less then $100. When mine went out in my 1985 Toyota pickup I was doing about 45 MPH and it was just like someone turn the key off., dead, no spark nothing. I ran the troublesooting steps in my repair manual and found it was dead.

1985 dodge w350 with 360 ci engine,no spark, replaced coil, cap ,rotor, pickup unit ,ignition module, could it be ignition switch? acts like it wants to fire when i wiggle ignition with key

could be if the engine is not getting voltage from the ignition switch. take a test light and check for battery voltage at the coil and module when you turn the switch on.

We have no spark. can't tell if it is the coil or the igniter

The Igniters tend to fail more often than the coil because they use some electronic components that eventually fail due to the hot conditions that they operate under. I would replace the igniter first

Stalled and will not start. Getting fuel, no

I would suspect the ignition module or the distributor itself is malfunctioning. Also check the ignition rotor and make sure that it is not burned through.

Why won't my 1985 toyota 4x4 start i changed the fuel filter spark plugs why won't it start

Check and see if there is spark from the coil, if not, the coil is bad.

I was driveing and my 1985 toyota truck died and i cant get any fire from my coil

replace the coil after testing the no. 1 spark plug. pull the high tension cable and put near about 2mm from the ground. if no spark is seen. check the contact point, capacitor and distributor.

85 toyota r22 pu just died. No fire to the plugs, the coil cks good but how is the ignition assey. cked. the one under the coil; How is the electronic module in the dist. cked.

I had this problem once. My engine turned over but i had no spark.
Every thing electrical was fine.
Make sure your distributor turns when you are cranking the engine over.
Check your pickup sensor in your distrubutor with an ohm meter.
the resistance is 180-240 ohms.
