You have an engine misfire....unless you have expertise in this area you need to see your local shop as you will damage your catalytic converter if you continue to drive. An OBD II scan tool will id the cylinder to help but knowledge here is key!!

Look where your throttle cables etc are attached at throttle body, it should be at opposite end of the shaft that operates throttle plate in front of throttle body opening. Usually held on with Torx screws

Where is the acceleration sensor located?

The APP sensor is attached to the gas pedal. This sensor rarely fails. The most common problem with an APP ( accelerator position sensor ) is the actual throttle control motor on Volvo's. The throttle assembly may be contaminated with oil due to a plugged PVC system causing the oil to enter the breather hose and be sucked into the throttle assembly and electronics. It is rather difficult to inspect the throttle assembly as it is under the intake manifold, however, if the air intake hose is removed and there is oil in it, suspect this to be your problem

Throttle position sensor is part of the throttle body assembly. It is not sold as a separate part. You need to replace the throttle assembly. Remove the intake tube, remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the electrical plug. It will need to be programmed by someone withe the Volvo Vida software.

When an issue such as this occurs, you have a faulty TPS-throttle position sensor, and it needs to be replaced. The replacement is fairly simply, and you may be able to get the part at an auto parts store. The TPS is located on the throttle body.
