I have 2008 GMC sierra 5.3 L with a new fuel pump. And no power to the pump. Any ideas where to look?

Fuel Pump Flow Control Module (FPCM) - LMF
The fuel pump flow control module (FPCM) is a serviceable GMLAN module. The FPCM receives the desired fuel pressure message from the engine control module (ECM) and controls the fuel pump located within the fuel tank to achieve the desired fuel pressure. The FPCM sends a 25 KHZ PWM signal to the fuel pump, and pump speed is changed by varying the duty cycle of this signal. Maximum current supplied to the fuel pump is 15 amps. A liquid fuel pressure sensor provides fuel pressure feedback to the FPCM.
Electronic Returnless Fuel System (ERFS) - LMF
The electronic returnless fuel system is a microprocessor controlled fuel delivery system which transports fuel from the tank to the fuel rails. It functions as an electronic replacement for a traditional, mechanical fuel pressure regulator. A pressure vent valve within the fuel tank provides an added measure of fuel pump flow control module (FPCM). Desired fuel pressure is commanded by the engine control module (ECM), and transmitted to the FPCM via a GMLAN serial data message. A liquid fuel pressure sensor provides the feedback the FPCM requires for Closed Loop fuel pressure control.

Cadillac did not accept a brand new. Fuel pump

Explain did not accept a brand new. Fuel pump . Did it reject it ? Or do you mean after installing a new fuel pump the vehicle still won't start ? How do you know it needed one ? Did you do a fuel pump pressure an flow test ? Did you do a fuel pump electrical circuit test ? What year Cadillac an model . Some of these have a electronic control module that is in control of the pump .

DTC P025A: Fuel Pump Control Module Enable Circuit
Your problem is the fuel pump control module , do you know what this is !

I have explorer 2006 fuel pump doesn't work although it is new i want adiagram for its electric sircut

Did you test or just replace it ? There is a fuel pump driver module that controls the pump , an the PCM tells how much fuel to pump by a sensor on the fuel rail ! the fuel rail pressure sensor ! Your vehicle has Ford Electronic Returnless Fuel System ! watch this guy on testing Ford Electronic Returnless Fuel System Diagnosis Part 1 Ford Electronic Returnless Fuel System Diagnosis Part 2

did you check Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) Switch The IFS switch is used in conjunction with the electric fuel pump. The purpose of the IFS switch is to shutoff the fuel pump if a collision occurs. It consists of a steel ball held in place by a magnet. When a sharp impact occurs, the ball breaks loose from the magnet, rolls up a conical ramp and strikes a target plate which opens the electrical contacts of the switch and shuts off the electric fuel pump. Once the switch is open, it must be manually reset before restarting the vehicle. Refer to the Owner's Literature for the location of the IFS.
Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) Note: For the LS, the FPDM functions are incorporated in the rear electronic module (REM). The fuel pump operation is the same as for applications using the stand-alone FPDM. However, the REM communicates diagnostic information through the communication link instead of using a fuel pump monitor (FPM) circuit.
Note: The Ford GT uses 2 FPDMs to control fuel for the dual-injection fuel delivery system. The PCM outputs only one fuel pump duty cycle which is used by both pumps. The PCM individually monitors the FPDMs through their fuel pump monitor circuits. Both FPDMs are mounted on the same bracket. The FPDM mounted in the upper position on the bracket is referred to as FPDM and the FPDM mounted in the lower position, is referred to as FPDM2.
The FPDM receives a duty cycle signal from the PCM and controls the fuel pump operation in relation to this duty cycle. This results in variable speed fuel pump operation. The FPDM sends diagnostic information to the PCM on the fuel pump monitor circuit. For additional information on Fuel Pump Control and the Fuel Pump Monitor, refer to Fuel Systems in this section. You need to do some research on line. depending on the location these FPDM corrode an short out ! This vehicle in the video is inside but on some trucks they are underneath the vehicle ! Fuel pump driver module

Hi Donald,

The Jeep electronics are all controlled by the onboard computer. If you have a problem with the fuel pump then it will be the fuel pump. The computer will give you a warning if there is anything wrong with the electronics.

Good luck.

My car car is turning over but not cranking up.i dont believe its getting gasn i drove it from houston then to fort worth. and now not working

if you have an electronic fuel pump, turn the key all the way until the instrument cluster lights up, just don't turn on the car, now listen carefully when you do this, if your fuel pump is ok, you will hear a low whinning noise coming from the rear of the vehicle(gas tank area). this is the fuel pump priming itself, this means your fuel pump is ok. Now, if you dont hear this, you might have a bad fuel pump relay. replace with another relay and see if the car turns on. if you still don't hear the fuel pump turning on, then you might have a bad fuel pump. remember, once you use electronic parts you can't return them(the relay).
