Question about 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI

1 Answer

I pushed on the gas door button instead of pull up on my 2003 jetta gl. It is down inside. I tried using needle nose pliers to pull it back up and all I pulled up was the cable (electrical?) How do I remove the door panel to put the button back into place?

Insert a suitable prytool in lower partition between the panel and grip recess.

  1. Unclip the grip recess upward out of door trim. Do NOT reach into grip depression while doing so, to prevent damage to brace.
  2. Press the locking lug against the connector (3 - arrow) and pull it off.

2003 Saturn view rear hatch will not open what do I do how to fix that

As the same with a trunk lock a foriegn object can can get in between the lock and latch. Lucky for you and even better if the back seats folds down you have an easier access. Now crawl into the rear taking with you a 2 screw drivers, pliers and needle nose pliers. look for something stuck in between the door and the jam if so try to pull it out. If you don't see anything try this, get one person to put key in door and another to push the electric lock while you push on door. If that doesn't work you'll have to rake the door panel apart be carefull not to break the plastic after 11 years it does become fragile. once inside the door try to release it manually the cable may have broken

If you can get a long nosed pair of needle nosed pliers and reach the cable from grill in front of car, pull cable with pliers it should pop open, same if cable is broken inside car, find cable and pull it

I can closed the back passenger window

IF you can, separate the rubber/felt window seals and see if you can see the top of the window glass. IF you can - use a pair of needle nose pliers and attempt to carefully pull up - making sure you do not crack (shatter) the glass. Once enough glass is exposed - use your fingers to pull-up. While you are pulling--up attempt to raise (up) the window with the window switch. There may be a dead spot on the motor, by pulling-up you advance the motor beyond the dead spot, and the motor MAY re-engage.
IF you can't get the glass up with needle nose pliers, try pushing down on the glass (being careful again) while engaging the window switch to raise (up). Again the idea is to get the motor from the dead spot.
Another way: While engaging the window switch to raise the window - bang (hard) on the door - in various spots to attempt to "vibrate" the motor to engage.
Last but not least: Remove the Inner Door Panel and raise the window by hand, again using the window switch to (maybe) assist you.
I have also (but painfully): separated the window seals and got a piece of duct tape down onto the glass, using a long screw driver to adhere enough of the tape to the glass enough to pull up on the glass. It worked but it needs careful hand control on your part. GO Duct Tape!

EPC means Electronic Pedal Control. Fly-by-wire for your gas pedal--instead of a mechanical cable that pulls an accelerator linkage on the engine, there's an electronic device on the gas pedal, an electronic device on the throttle body and a wire between them.
You should check the sistem with diagnostic tool.

Gas tank door wont open

90% chance the cable is streched...so...this is what you do....take a small pair of needle nose pliers.....locate the cable that is on the plastic handle...it's gonna have a little metal crimp on it....and simply pull on it...that should release it for ya....hopefully the cable isn't broke...they normally just strech

2001 Jetta Interior Climate Control Bulb

There is one bulb (for all three knobs) behind the center knob. Turn the knob to the straight up and down 12 o'clock position and pull the knob straight out. Wrap a soft cloth around the jaws of a pliers, that works the best. Pull the bulb out with a needle nose wrapped with a rubber band. The bulb is a sylvania 2721, available at most auto parts stores. You can also use a small piece of vacuum tubing to pull the bulb out. (pull straight out, don't twist it)

How to take the connecter plug off do you push down on it then pull it or how do you do it

it is very hard!!! get some needle nose pliers or a seal pick to disengage the lock on the plug and then pull the plug loose with a small pair of pliers .
the little lock is the hardest part. it must be moved sideways across the connector prior to releasing the connector.
