If it dies within seconds after starting, replace the fuel pump relay for the priming switch is working to start

Mine is doing the same. It is not the fuel pump on mine. I put a pressure gauge on the fuel injector rail and it maxed the gauge, but died anyway. Fuel pressure was good up until and after the motor died. My model will run rich until the motor temperature reaches a point and then the curb idle will kick in and that is the point that it dies, so I think it is somewhere around that? Have not found it yet. Any help appreciated.

92 Dakota 3.9 L fuel pump won't shut off. What is going on?

the fuel pump relay contacts may have fused together, remove the relay and see if it stops, if it nuns for10 minutes then stops points to fuel fault, replace the filter then check pressure and flow. if the pressure is low check the fuel regulator and pump.

Possibly fuel pump. can you here the pump buzz with key on? hold key to start & have someone hit bottom of fuel tank (where pump is) If start = fuel pump. There aren't many things that will make a car not run. You need to check for fuel, spark, airflow 1st.

try oil pressure switch the computer provides the power to pump for just a second on start up then the oil pressure switch takes over to supply power the the pump the reason for this is in case you are in an accident the engine dies loses oil presure then kills power to full pump so the fuel pump doesnt continue to have power with the key in the on position

Stall as soon as oil light came on..92 sundance

I don't think a 92 sundance will shut the fuel pump down when the oil pressure is low, but it might. Can you get it to run on carb cleaner. If it is oil pressure, the car should start then run a few seconds and die. Have you checked the timing belt? If it broke the distributor will stop turning which would stop the oil pump.

hey
in most cases the reason it's of two things. either your catalytic converter is plugged or you are losing fuel either from a plugged filter or a bad fuel pump. wouldn't be a bad idea to check the air filter also.
