Any brand meets specs. viscosity rating depend on climate. in USA 10-30 or 10-40 will almost always do.

SOURCE: I changed the oil on my 2008 nissan sentra 2.0

You should use the viscosity oil recommended in your owner's manual. Using a heavier weight oil can affect your fuel economy. If you overfilled the engine with oil, drain out a quart. Overfilling with oil will cause the oil to 'foam', and if this happens, you are not getting proper lubrication of components, which can result in damage to your engine.

Check the driver side door or door frame. You will see a metal plate with the information on the recommended tire pressures for your car.

2008 oil leak and engine ticking

An engine used oil for lubrication and colling. If there is no oil then there is no lubrication. No lubrication means lots of heat and friction. Is it a ticking or banging noise? I do believe it is an ohc engine so it couldnt be a lifter ticking. It is probably a rod knocking. It so then it will more than likely need an engine

1999 nissan sentra has water in oil what would cause this?

If it is just water it can be caused by the car used for short trips only. Condensation happens in all engines, most of us don't notice it because the engine and oil gets hot enough to evaporate it. PCV system may need service if a valve can't pull that vapor out.

I assume you see it uner the fill cap. If the sludge is tasteless (not recommended to taste) then it is water. If it's bitter sweet it can be antifreeze. Again..tasting is a last resort and not recommended ;)

I took my 2008 sentra in to get an oil change and because me check engine light was on. I get a call the next day telling me that I have sludge in my engine, it is undrivable, and need a new engine. There...

we have seen few of these our selves. that only happens, when you dont do ol changes reguraly every 3500 miles with conventional oil or 7500 miles with full synthetic oil. if the want to put an engine into it, i would say doit as long as they do it under warantee, but something tells me that they may not, because you dont have any records as far as oil changes. that makes it tougher for them to replace it under factory warantee. your sentra has 5years or 60k miles warantee on engine and trans which ever comes first.

Service engine light came - Service engine soon.

yes you must be careful here, it is mostlikely your oil, although it could possibly be coolant too, with summertime approching you do not want to drive around without your fluids topped off. check each one of the fluids I mentioned and add if needed

Sentra 2008 2.0 model

It is best to get a proper garage or oil change specialist to change the oil, as it will void the warranty on such a new vehicle if you do it yourself. Also if you just want to top the oil up, best to call the dealer for the oil specification, or it should be in the handbook that came with the vehicle.
Hope this helps, Mark
