Remove the few screws around the pull handle and or door latch handle. Then pry off the panel. This will damage the plastic snap-in holders. They will have to be replaced. they are very cheap at the dealership or probably even any auto parts store...

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and out thru the vents.

2000 GMC Sierra 5.3L. Heater is stuck on full heat. It is not responding when I turn the dial to make colder.


sounds like you have a bad actuator motor that is what moves the door in heater box to change from hot to cold

sounds like the actuator is bad also known as the blend door it flaps open and close to send air either out the top or bottom of the vehicle

NO' YOU DONT NEED TO REMOVE THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL, TO REPLACE SPEAKERS CONNECT WIRING CONNECTOR TO SPEAKER FIT SPEAKER BACK IN GRILLE AND REPLACE RETAINING SCREWS.
