Hi the problem sounds to me like its either your manifold gasket or your exhaust downpipe gasket both of these parts are cheap to buy and would only take a mechanic an hour to fit, getting this done will solve your problem,

double check with the garage first that it is that then you will know exactly what your paying for, its not a major problem and something that is easy to fix so its nothing to worry about.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Car made high pitch squealing noise before it not being able to turn over

I wonder if you have a fan belt that is screeching? They get glazed over and eventually wear out and make a high whine and screeching noise. This might...be what it is

My Civic is making a whining sound while running. I have takin all belts of and still its making the noise....The only thing I can think that is left is the balancer and the timing assembly. Any ideas?

Hi, i think the Civic has a timing belt, So the noise could be coming from the belt itself or the tensioner pully assembly or any idler roller that the belt may go round.
Also if the waterpump is driven by the timing belt (which i think it is )it could be noisy
I hope this is of some help to you

Makes high pitched sound when starting. doesn't want to go into gear

Have you checked the transmission fluid? I believe the problem is within the transmission, because it wont go into gear. A whining noise, or high pitch noise, can be caused by low transmission fluid, which allows air to get in the transmission lines, or it could be a bad transmission pump. This is for a automatic transmission, since it is what I believe that you have in your car.

Weird noises in drive and reverse

The high pitched whine in reverse sounds normal for a honda. Ever honda I have had makes a similar noise while in reverse. The spinning, scraping noise in drive is not normal. You might want to see a mechanic about that.
