1. Either on the rear lower part of engine

2. Front lower end of engine

3. Lower Driver, or Lower Passenger Side of engine.

There are only so many places the are mounted. If you can't see it from the top, than chances are it's under the engine. If it's in the front, it will be toward the driver side. (look under car from under front bumper {may need to raise car} and look just in front of oil pan.

If in the back, look just behind the engine block.

If on either side, you should be able to see it merely by removing either wheel of which side it's on.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi the easiest way to find this would be to, locate your battery on the battery there is a red possative wire, or more, find the thickest one, then follow that to the engine/motor, there you will see the solinoid for the starter, this is between the engine/motor and the gearbox/transmission hope that helps

It could be bad solenoid or starter. Take it off and have Auto parts store to check it for you.

Where is a 06 hyundai elantra starter located

The starter in the 2001 model is under the intake manifold. I would check there first. Replacing it will require removing the air box and will take some contortions to get out if it's in the same place on yours. Are you sure that the starter is the problem because these usually don't fail (not to say it can't happen)? Hope this helps!

Check battery cables. Follow all the them all way. It's the next step I would do. Then I would have somebody check the starter. Good Luck!
