No, you should not have to. It will be difficult to do the rear one on the passenger side. I suggest using a 1/4 in drive ratchet. I had to do this on my Plymouth Grand Voyager SE. The front ones are very easy, and the middle one and the one on the driver side in the back were fairly easy. I suggest doing the back one on the passenger side first to get it out of the way. It comes out easier than it goes in. Just remember, when putting the new one in, put it in by hand first, hand tighten as much as possible. Have your ratchet ready (maybe have someone hold it for you so you're not looking for it as you'll want to keep your hand on the plug until you're ready for the ratchet so it'll be easier to locate by feel. There is no visual play here, so this is how it will need to be done. This will also take a bit of patience as well.

More then likely you have a 3.8L engine, to get to the rear spark plug's, you need to get to them from under the van.
