I'm assuming this doesn't happen when you rev the engine at low speeds. In that case something is wrong in the gearbox. You must have the error codes read - without them it's like shooting in the dark.  Anyway, change the oil and its filter from the gearbox, maybe it's clogged and at higher speeds the  pump isn't capable of keeping the pressure up.

In that case the only thing left for you to do is to take the car to have its error codes read - only after you know them we can do a proper diagnostic.

My 1995 toyota corolla blows clouds of blue smoke, but only when i hit speeds of around 50 miles per hour or higher. Its done around 130000 miles

this is an indication of worn bearings and worn rings as there is too much oil on the cylinder walls from excessive loss from the worn bearings that the worn oil rings cannot control the excess at high engine rpm's. Consider a recon short motor as it will be expensive to rebuild the engine.

first check there is spark at the spark plugs, if ok check fuel pressure and fuel flow, if ok check injector pulse by holding while the starter is engaged. One of the above will be at fault.

1996 dodge stratus choking engine

Have you had the fuel filter changed. Also. Are you using high octane. If not. Could be the gasoline. Also start using high mileage carb cleaner. Wal-Mart has a good one for high mileage. Your carb and port injectors are clogging up. .

Car wont pass 40 miles per hour

If the check engine light does not come on, runs ok at low engine load and low speeds, but falls on its face under heavy load and faster road speeds, I would have to say that the fuel filter is the most common culprit of your problem. Generally, it needs to be replaced at least every 30,000 miles, but that is just a rule of thumb. They can be clogged at any mileage, causing fuel flow to be restricted to the engine.

I have 2001 Merc 430ML what is the Low Range botton mean?

low range means you are in 'low range 4 wheel drive' push the button while the engines running and the gear shift levers in neutral to switch to high range [or 2x4] low range, cannot drive over 15 miles per hour, high range can drive up to 65 miles per hour. see the difference? you need to shift the transmission to neutral, while the engines running, and your foot on the brake pedal, push the button on the 4x4 to light up to the two wheel or rear wheel diagram. then when it lights up the 2 rear wheels, it's in rear wheel drive. if this does'nt describe your problem! please do not attempt anything and call toll free# for mercedes roadside assistance for free at 1-877-815-9962 these people have been a great asset to my buisness. thank you for choosing

Will not go in 4 low 4x4 lights start blinking after trying . reset light by unhooking battery . then goes in 4 high normelly but not 4 low. i thlnk auto 4 is working 4 liter SOHC 1998

Normally 4 wheel drive HIGH is engaged on the fly or as you are moving more than 10 km per hour or 10 miles per hour but 4 wheel drive LOW is engaged at around 3 to 5 mph. no more or you could ruin the transfer case. Try going from 2 high to 4 high by switching back and forth and then try 2 high to 4 low when idling along. What usually happens is the mechanics under the car freeze up or rust up and you have to switch back and forth to free it up.

It fans! Kidding. Ok, that psrt in the middle is the clutch. It is a viscous/fluid that expands as it gets hot. In doing do it forces the fan blades to keep up eith the shaft it is attached to. Of course it then pulls more air through the radiator for cooling. At higher speeds, above 35 miles per hour the fan becomes in effective due to vehicle speed forcing air through the radiator. The fluid in the fan hub cools and the fan is left to freewheel in turn taking away the fans parasitical load. That's what it does. If you are overheating, The fan is only to blame at low speeds. If you overheat over 35, Chances are real good your thermostat is acting up. Good Luck and quit spinning the fan! :)
