Starter will not turn car over

to get power from the switch to the solenoid you will have to hold the key in the start position as there will be no power in the run position or the starter would be engaged all the time.

05 300 no power to starter

It can be faulty starter or there is loose connection from battery to starter. The starter assembly gets power from battery.Check voltages at starter wires and see if you are getting 12 volts or not.If not then its no power issue due to low battery volt or no connection between battery to starter.

1997 for explorer new battery will not turn over just clicks in the approximate place of the starter solenoid(spelling). Just needing to replace the part there or part of a bigger issue.

Check for power on the black wire at the starter with the key in the crank position. If there is power there and power on the larger wire at the starter than the starter is bad. If there is no power on the black wire than the relay/solenoid is bad. If there is no power on the larger wire at the starter than check your battery connections.

I replaced the starter solenoid but it will still not start what is your suggestion

First test for power at starter,if your getting power to starter then starter is bad, also check the batt cable going to starter at starter for corrsion at terminal,if that cable has power and the small wire gets power when key in the crank spot then starter is no good,

I have no power after replacing starter solenoid.

Possibly you have your main power lead hooked to the starter side of solenoid.

My car will not start and I bought a brand new battery today and installed it. However the car still will not even fire up at all, but the power in the car still works. What could cause this?

Sounds to me like you need the starter tested or replaced,if you are not getting even a click then the starter needs a set of brushes,if all you get is a click then you need a starter solenoid, either way the starter needs to come off.
