I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. Has approx. 178,000 on it. HAVING major engine issues. If it sits for any amt. of time and I get in it to drive it, 9 times out of 10 i will not have enough power to go. Once i get going, it works itself out.....but doesn't seem to get better. I have had the whole fuel assembly replaced in the fuel tank. I have dumped bottles of stuff in to 'clean' injectors. Just had all the injectors replaced. STILL DOES IT! ANY suggestions.

You didn't mention the fuel pressure regulator. Is your check engine light on? faulty ignition coil? corrosion on plug wires? spark plugs fouled? crankshaft position sensor? Did it die all at once or slowly over time get sucky?

fuel pressure regulator has been replaced.
engine light comes on here and there, then goes off here and there with no significant change in the way the vehivle runs.
spark plug wires and distributor new w/in last yr.

it has deteriorated over time, i guess.
there is no ryhme or reason as to when the check engine light comes on.

Put a pressure gauge on the fuel test port to find out if you have low fuel pressure. If you haven't checked the pressure regulator, that could be the problem.
If that doesn't help, connect to a code scanner to see if the computer has detected any faults.
Also, run a compression test; see about the general health of the engine.

Fuel pressure regulator has been replaced.
When it is put on the computer. Most of the time, no codes come up.

Mass air flow sensor was the only code that appeared, but was functioning w/in the proper range.

Incorrect Crankshaft position and valve timing.

It has an interference engine, so the piston came up and hit the valves and jammed with piston. You now have bent valves.

1999 Chevy Tahoe stalled while driving and now it won't start.

It sounds like you may have an issue with the fuel system or ignition system in your 1999 Chevy Tahoe. If it was running fine before you filled it with gas, then it's possible that the fuel pump or filter is clogged or faulty. If the fuel pump is unable to deliver fuel to the cylinders, the engine won't start. You could also have an issue with the ignition system, such as a faulty spark plug or coil. You may want to check the spark plugs and coils to make sure they are in good condition and that they are sending a spark to the cylinders. Additionally, you may need to check the fuel filter and fuel pump to make sure they are functioning properly.

Why do my 1999 chevy tahoe stalls when I accelerate

It could be from any number of reasons. It would be a pure guess on any diagnosis without having an analysis performed by a competent technician.

Have you had any service engine light come on while driving? If so, you should have a code reader pull any code(s) from your computer. This will often point to the cause of the problem.

1999 chevy tahoe check guages light

it sounds like the speed sensor is faulty, but you should have it checked in case it is an output or input sensor too.whats happening is, since the computer has no eyes it totaly depends on sensors to know what is happening,if it sees no speed it won't up shift the transmission because it thinks your sitting still.

Does the 4-wheel drive work ? Most of the time, it is a reminder to have your fluid changed. Other times, it could be a vacuum leak in the line that engages the 4-wheel drive. Check both of those first.
