Cant get the right front brake to pressurize. just spent $670.00 getting new brakes after the ones i had started smoking, then the mechanics could not get the right brakes to function...also the abs...

The front brake not pressurizing my guess would have to be that the brake line is not tight, or there is a brake, kink or some type of blockage in the system that is not allowing the breaking system to pressurize. The ABS warning system not functioning would be that there is something wrong with one of the sensors or the sensor is not connected. I would honestly take it back to the mechanic and make them figure this out due to the fact that this is unsafe and the mechanic could be in serious trouble if anything where to happen

Abs light came on vehicle was pulling to the left, just replaced the cv axles both fronts, brake system is completely locked up cant move vehicle.

when locked try to relieve the brake line pressure by opening the bleeder on the wheel that is locked. if that unlocks the wheel then replace the hose for that wheel. if all wheels are locked then relieve the pressure at the master cylinder if that unlocked the wheels then you will need the flush out all the brake fluid with new clean Dot 4 fluid. and replace all the rubber in the brake system. the fluid was contaminated and caused the rubber parts the the brake system to swell. this would include the master cylinder, rubber hoses, wheel cylinder kits, calipers kits, ABS pump module.any part that has brake fluid in it. if you know that the wrong fluid has be put into the brake fluid .you may want to check with your car insurance company it may be covered .

Put front brakes on hj kingswood bleed brake line .now brake peddle wont work

you need to bleed the brakes, starting from the wheel that's the fartherest away from your master cylinder. if you opened a bleeder valve when you replaced the front brakes, you've let air into the whole brake will need 2 people to bleed the air out of the brakes.1to pump the pedal up for pressure and you to release the pressure of air from the bleeder valves on each wheel.start from the wheel that's the fartherest away from the brake master cylinder. passenger rear wheel.have someone pump the brake pedal up [pump3times]and hold pressure on the brake pedal, you open bleeder valve on the wheel to let the air out,or until the brake pedal goes to the floorboard[never let the person who is pumping the brake pedal to take the pressure off the brake pedal until you've tightened the bleeder valve closed.or else, you're waisting your time. you may have to bleed each wheel twice,or until you see clear brake fluid come out with no bubbles or spurting from each wheel. after you're done with passenger rear wheel, move to driverside rear wheel, then go to passenger front, then drivers front, which is last.when you replaced the brakes, you made a common mistake, you opened the brake lines, which let air into the brake's a very common mistake so don't feel bad.just go back and bleed the brake system.after you do this, you will not make the same mistake again,i guarantee it. thank you for choosing and if you need further assistance, please repost your question to i'm usually here at least 12 hours a day to assist people for free.that's just me thanks!

I have an 89 bmw 325is. I have replaced the 2 fr ont calipers and master cylinder. When I take it out for a test drive I noticed that the front brakes lock up on me and I have to relieve pressure on...

It is either the caliper piston will not retract after brake pressure is relieved or the flexible rubber brake line itself has collapsed internally, causing constant pressure to be applied to the front brakes.

How to trouble shoot the brake system?

To trouble shoot the brake system you have to check:AntiLock Brake System ABS:
Hydraulic Modulator
Basically this unit holds steady or bleeds off pressure in brake line, as necessary, when the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects an abnormal deceleration in the speed of the wheel. On 2000 and later models the EBCM and Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) are mounted on a bracket attached on the left strut tower.
Wheel Speed Sensors, brake fluid level, brake hoses and lines, inspect and replacement, Brake hydraulic system-bleeding, Brake light switch, check, adjustment and replacement.
Disk brake caliper, disk brake pads, drum brake shoes, master cylinder, master cylinder reservoir, O-rings replacement, parking brake adjustment, parking brake cables inspect and replacement, parking brake shoes-replacement, power brake booster, check or replacement, wheel cylinder inspect and replace.

88 Chev Van 30 350 with hydro boost pump seized/brakes locked up.

to relieve the brake pressure to move the vehicle , open the bleeder ******* at each wheel for a half second
but you will have to replace the failed hydro booster unit or you will get the same problem back or have no brake assist during braking

97 Chevy Suburban. Front left brake caliper apllies brake pressure but will not close when pressure to the pedal is relieved. We replaced both calipers (drum brakes on back) but the problem is still there....

i would have to say the master brake cylinder is at fault. there are ports in the cylinder that allow fluid back into the reservoir. these ports may be clogged. or the brake hose/line is clogged. have you changed the brake hose?

Hot front wheels

Replace brake hoses, they have an inner core that has ruptured and the outside rubber core is keeping pressure on the caliper with you foot off the brake. This will fix it! A common problem for this vehicle.
