Question about 2001 GMC Sierra C/K3500
This happens because the sensors on the wheel (or the wiring to them) were damaged by the stone chips thrown by the wheels.
Lift the front of the car, take the wheels off and check them. You should also check the error codes, you might have some other problems that were caused by the faulty wirings.
