Question about 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4WD

Open Question

I own a grand vitara wagon 1.9 DDiS, with 48.000 km. I bought it brand new 3 years ago. The problem with it is that during the last month when I drive with the 4rth or the fifth gear and I need to accelerate, the engine sudenly loses power and the injection light turns on. Suzuki service has done several actions i.e. replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the EGR, change a narrow smoke pipe with a wider one (according to official Suzuki suggestion) but the problem is still there. According to the diagnostic test the problem is with the DPF filter. They state that I have to replace it. You know, this is very costly to replace and it seems that it is not sure that the injection light turns on due the the DPF inefficiency. I have to say that the light which is dedicated to the malfunction of the DPF filter has never turned on. Do you have any experience with a similar problem met in this Suzuki? thank you in advance Antonis

SOURCE: I have black smoke coming from my exhaust

It is over fueling black smoke is diesel. You will need to get all the injectors tested and check the air filter may be clogged. The tapping noise is what is known as a diesel knock. This should leave it when you get the over fueling sorted.

My egr valve on a 2007 suzuki grand vitara DDiS is clicking when I turn off the engine.

why would you do that. (if in usa its illegal and prove of tampering)
1: besides smog (NOX reduction) it does 2 other things.
2: it lowers exhaust valve temperatures, making them last and last.
3: it increase MPG, mileage. (can be proven easy with a simple test)
4: reduces PING, (detonation damage)
NOt only that, the ECU/PCM will fail the P04xx tests. and then not be able to inject or run spark advance correctly (see ping)

how to make a blank off, why? just unplug it.

Who makes the diesel engine in the suzuki grand vitara

The 1.9-litre diesel engine in the latest version is sourced from Renault and delivers a hefty 221 ft lbs of torque for reassuring operation both on and off road. This power makes the Grand Vitara a far more versatile proposition, with even enough power to pull a small caravan if required.
