Question about Honda Accord

1 Answer

Hi, I thank you in advance for reading this. My accord 1994 is dripping water - I've looked at online posts and they only talk about ones that are from the front of the car (e.g., under the driver's and the passenger seat). My problem is that it is leaking water from the back of the car, just a few inches from the number plate. I'm positive that it is just water. I've put white paper underneath - no colour, no smell. Tried it with a aluminium foil - no smell, not sticky, no colour. I haven't felt any problems with its performance either. I'm assuming (hopefully) that it is just rain water coming out. I've looked underneath the car - and it's coming out of a little hole - a hole which seems like it's meant to be there - not some sort of damage. I'm totally confused, and worried. This car has an emotional value and I know it's getting old but I want to maximise my time with it.. but I guess I will have to let it go if staying with it means a threat to my safety...!! So please help and please say that it's no problem.. Thanks so much

Check to see if you have water in the trunk, spare tire area.and it is just leaking out. If you do you will have to find out how it is leaking in there.

Why is my 1994 Honda accord ex is needing water everyday

Might want to check your oil to see if water is in it or while its running see if water is dripping out your tailpipe.....If not, then you have a radiator leak or a busted hose....Start your car up with the hood open and let it run for a bit....look under it....do you see water dripping anywhere???? Is it running hot????

Dripping water? underneath engine from small black rubber tube can anyone help

if the tube is dripping only when you've run the AC then its just condensation being dripped out of the unit and is normal, the location of this would be someplace near the firewall, it shouldn't be anything but clear water, if you detect antifreeze or rusty looking water, then its probably the radiator o ver flow tube, that would be located to the side of the radiator

My 1994 Honda Accord is losing water from the radiator although no water has been under the car. I Also noticed the cooling fan which use to turn on after the car had been turned off, isn't coming on...

There is a fan sensor in the radiator. If the coolant level uncovers the sensor, the fans won't work properly. Your water loss is caused by the engine burning coolant. Look at the exhaust pipe to see if any water is dripping from the tail pipe with the engine running. Diagnosing the problem can be tricky. It can be a blown head gasket or a crack in a cylinder head or block.

I can't find the valet switch on my 2001 Honda Accord

Look under dash above brake pedal......it should be mounted there. Or in some rare cases can be taped into wire harness .....not on lower edge of dash.

Determining if head gasket is blown on a 1994 honda accord Ex w VTec

White smoke out of the exhaust is one indication that the head gasket is blown. Another is to start the car and check the oil on the dipstick. If it's frothy or looks like a milkshake, this is another indication of a blown head gasket. The milky appearance indicates that coolant is in your engine, caused by a bad head gasket. If none of these symptoms occur, then the problem lies elsewhere. Hope this answers your question and feel free to post back with any other concerns or questions. Thank you.

Maintenance Indicator turned to red

you have to plug a code reader into your OBD1 slot below the steering wheel (if you have one), once you get a code you can look up what that code means online or if you get a fancy code reader it might tell what the code means

advance auto should be able to get you a code reader, if you dont want to buy a code reader you have to take it in to a shop, if your car is running fine you might not have to worry about it.

Water pump

Depending on the miles on the car the timing belt might also need changing but to get the car running just replace the water pump if that is the issue. Is there anyone local you can talk to about finding a good mechanic? If the guy is trying to make extra money off you you might see someone else. then again he may be trying to watch after you but statistics show that might not be the case.
good luck geting your car running and I totally understand your doubts about mechanics wanting to do more than needed.

Car has a skunk like smell and AC question

Listen people...it isn't a skunk! My elantra smells like a skunk too and I am sure I didn't hit one. I think that it might be my battery; since battery acid and skunk smell are chemically the same. This is what I am checking next.
