The valve in the bowl or the float are damaged - replace them.

Engine hard to start after sitting


Sounds like it could be a carburator issue. Fuel could be leaking out of the fuel bowl or back to the fuel tank. You can tell this if you have the breather off and *before trying to start the engine* operate the accelerator arm on the carburator as you look down into the carburator. If the fuel hasn't leaked back you should see it shoot some fuel into the carburator. Also could be a fuel pump problem where the pump lets the fuel leak back and there isn't fuel there to pump up to start the engine when it's cold. Also the 360 wasn't released until 1971 so it's pretty safe to say it's not a 1967 or not a 360.

engine running too hot.check coolant level, should be 50/50 antifreeze and water.replace thermostat and radiator pressure cap.check antifreeze level in the radiator,coolant level should be just below radiator cap, add coolant to overflow jug,should alway be at the full cold mark.empty coolant overflow jug will allow air be drawed in the coolant system causing overheating.if overheating happens when coming to a long stop.could have faulty engine coolant temperature sensor or bad coolant fan fuse or relay.

1974 Silver Shadow leaks fuel when I start it, but quits by the time I back it out of the garage.


This must be identified as it can be also due to a overflow from the fuel line , a possible leak in the old type carburator as the flow chamber needle valve is struck and so the flow may not react as it can be dry and so the fuel might fill and overflow as the fuel pump works.
You need to remove and clean the float chamber, check for dirt in the chamber, clean the valve and it must be resolved.

Chrysler Grand Voyager Immobiliser seems to have kicked in and now car won't start, Any ideas. Year 2006 2.8CRD LX, have already disconnected battery as this previously worked, but has failed to work this...


very simple solution, I have 2000 model grand voyager and it has a problem with immobilizer, what i did is, I was converted to carburator and disconnected the injector connector, i reduced the fuel pump pressure so that it will not overflow, i made a TPS base so that the transmissinon will shift in a normal pattern, I made a rounded hole on the hood because the carburator will hit the hood, now I can drive my Van normally and it is first time in KSA to modify the system, If you want to see, search my name in facebook and look at my photo, theng utto daguit and you can see it. thank's i'm filipino.

something wrong with your carburator. I think, needs to rebuilt.

Carburator is overflowing out air vents


Check if the float still floats...
When replacing the top cover, look out that no needle pushes the float down.
I don't know if a clip should be there. In case off, you'll se a trace of it.

Hi There,

If your car was running good and suddently it became like this and getting then I think your car either having a carburator or fuel injection problem. If it is a carburator I sugess go to shop for carburator cleaning and check for leakage, if it is a fuel injection then replaced fuel filter and one of the fuel injection cleaning stuff in gas tank for cleaning those fuel injection......

Carburator and idle problem


Believe it or not you just said the solution to your own problem manufacturers specs requires for any adjustments to engine idle or other carburator adjustments to be preformed while the engine is idling and at normal operating temp in plain english let the car warm up then make your idle and mixture adjustments if this doesnt solve it i would check the auto choke and make sure it is opening at normal operating temp hope this helps good luck
