Unlock drivers side door when key won't work

All BNW's have remote key openers built into key, so what doesn't work, the manual lock, or the remote key, or both. When you say you don't have keyless entry, on a BMW the remote is the key.

I changed the key batteries for my 1999 BMW 323i after they died. Afterwards the remote unlock and lock won't work, the car also won't start but it can turn over/on and the radio and the lights...

stick the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position, remove it within 5 seconds, then hold the unlock button down and press the lock button 3 times within 10 seconds and release both buttons. The doors should lock/unlock to give you confirmation and your key should work.

I'm assuming the remote on the key doesn't work? If it's the remote that's the issue then get yourself a coin style battery with the product number CR2016. Once you get the battery, look at the back of the key remote, there will be a small notch, carefully place a small flatblade screwdriver in the notch and twist (the cover should come up). Unscrew the two philips head screws you see and lift the case, you should see the battery. Quickly swap the batteries and reassemble. If the remote works, great; if it doesn't the key may need to be reprogrammed by BMW. Hope this helps.

2000 bmw 323i remote door locks do not work and alarm system not functioning

Have you replaced the battery in the remote? If you haven't then make sure you get the battery first and perform a quick swap out so you don't lose the keyfob's memory.

2006 BMW 323i Passnger Door lock will not lock / unlock w/ remote

Replace fuse 57 (15 amp) then disconnect battery and wait 30 to 45 minutes before reconnecting the battery.

My 2006 BMW 325I had the same problem with the door locks not responding. I checked all related fuses and found #57 (15 amp) was the only related fuse blown. I put in a new fuse and it still would not work. I then disconnected the battery for a while then once I reconnected the battery everything worked fine.

I believe I blew the fuse while repeatedly pushing the unlock button rapidly while walking across the parking lock to the car. I suggest only pushing the unlock button only once or twice.

Check the battery cables a loose connection can cause this. It they are tight check ignition switch.
With 2 key failures in such a short time it may be security ignition interrupt issue
