Where does it leak from? If you can't tell because oil is everywhere, get a can of engine degreaser, clean the oil, hose it down and then run it for few miles to see where the oil is coming out from. When cleaning the engine with degreaser and water be sure to cover the electronics with some water proof material, like a nylon bag. Once you see the leak, area, please post the question again with more details. thanks

How can i use stop leak for front seal leak on a 1990 volvo240

It is a simple task..The best advice I can give you is ..DONT get a cheap kind...All auto parts stores should sale this...It works good if you get the best kind that is highly rated with good reviews...All you have to do is pour it in the engine oil fill ...I strongly recommend with safety glasses clean engine completely to remove all oil from leak area while cold....Let it dry then use the sealing substance...BE SURE and follow the directions on the bottle...Also you may want to change your oil and put a thicker oil in it to help stop flow of leak...If it has a lot of miles I recommend 20/50 synthetic...Or if you have recently changed you DONT want to overfill it..Most stop leak instructions will tell you to add to engine when it is 1qt. Low.....I have had luck with sealant in the past..It will either stop it or slow it down.."

Peugeot 207 1.4, small oil leak from underneath, added engine stop leak, how long before it stops leak?

oil leaks from underneath can come from front crank shaft seal --rear crank shaft seal --oil filter--sump gasket---power steering ---leaking rocker cover gaskets ---leaking oil pressure switch.--transmission seals. I suggest that you have the engine professionally cleaned and then put it on a hoist while running to see where the oil is from

Oil leak on 2002 chevy silverado 6.0 around oil pan seems to be coming from the front and dripping down the oil filter

Hello....The first thing that you want to check..since you said the leak is in front is the area around the bottom of the crank shaft..If the oil is comming from there...This is where the main oil seal is for the crank shaft bearing...If no oil is comming from that can breath a sigh of relief...There are a lot of stop leak products for everything from radiators to oil systems to transmissions...I'm not a big fan beacuse ...If it can stop a can stop the flow....The best cure for an oil pan leak is to drain the oil.....Drop the oil pan...replace the gasket...and if you do it'll be good to go for a long time...PS.....don't forget to replace the oil....I hope this was helpful.....PEACE.....

Oil leak where on the car do i put the stop leak solution at please help

chances of stop leak working on an oil leak are slim and just need to clean the engine (or get someone to do it for you) so that you can tell where the leak is coming from-it might be as simple as a leaking oil sender unit, a leaking oil pan drain bolt or a valve cover, front or real main seal, or even the oil filter (not tight?)-don't waste time and money on voodoo, you need to find the leak and repair it.

It is leaking some dark black oil has 40,000 miles on it

Black oil indicates dirty/old oil.But to your leak, there are many leak stop products at your car store e.g. Autozone/Canadian tire namely Wynn's. Put a bottle in the crankcase and leave for 3000 miles, after that change your oil and filter.

I have used similar items in 3 cars and stopped the leaks.
