Question about Mazda MAZDA6

2 Answers

I have a 2003 Mazda 6. It has been a hot summer, with a lot of AC use. I'm finding that the passenger side carpets are regularly soaked?

Good Evening, I am sorry to hear you're up to your toes in water. What happens in the car air conditioners is when the evaporator has air blown across it (hot air) it blows the cold air into the car and moisture drips off and then channels out of the car via the blower box assembly then the drip tube. So I am assuming you no loner have that good puddle of water under your car like you used to. I have seen bugs, spiders etc climb into that little hole so if you are still dripping a little bit grab a trusty pencil and push it into the hole and you will most likely free it up and probably get a little wet in the process. I hope this helps and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Joey

It is located on the firewall behind the engine about right of center most likely with some shielding in the way, it'd been a while since I had to do one. Hope this helps if you have any more questions please let me know. Thanks, Joey

Hi. Check the drained tube of your cars A/C. there might be something clogging on the tube or it might be bent that is why water is not flowing freely to the tubes.

The passenger side carpet of my 1999 Chevy malibu was soaking wet. I ran the AC unit at full blast and a lot of water dripped into the road but the carpet stayed dry. I then sprayed it with water but...

If your ac is cooling without any problems, its not the evaporator that is under the dash. because

if it was you would loose a lot of freon and your ac would not cool so good.

on the other hand if the temperature on your engine got hot it would register on your gauges on

your dashboard, and that could be an indication of a ruptured heater core that also is under the dash.

but , you could also have other, things like a ruptured radiator hose, water pump, blown head gasket.

I hope this helps you. good luck!

Hi thank you in advance for your response. I have

I can only give you what happened to me. Is the passenger side front carpeting wet or has it been wet in the past? If so, remove the carpeting/insulation on the passenger side (remove passenger seat as well). Find the wiring harness that runs under the carpet and connects to the car's computer (which is under the passenger's seat). Look for corrosion at the electrical connector and replace if necessary. Also inspect the harness for wear through causing a ground. I had lots of problems with my Daewoo until I found that issue. I would up replacing the electrical connector going into the computer and presto...no more problems! I hope this helps. In addition, you need to remember that the defrosters and AC generate moisture which collects in a little drip pan underneath the heater. There is a drain hose that routinely gets clogged which causes the carpeting inside on the passengers side to get wet. Fix that drain line - replace with a larger diameter hose if possible. I blow mine out regularly using compressed air.

Water leaking into 2005 Camry 6 cyl under carpet drivers side.

I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.

Water leak passenger side in dodge caravan 2005 carpet soaked

look at the firewall on the engine side and you will see a small stub hose coming out on passenger side about even with the bottom of the heater box inside. that hose drains condensation from the ac...clear it out and you will have a dry floor. (unless heater core is leaking but you didn't mention any overheat or coolant loss so likely that's not a problem)

Cant find keyhole or switch to turn my airbags off in my mazda 6

The airbag system in this car is second generation smart airbags, there is no switch, if the weight in the passenger seat is not at least 50 pounds (there is a sensor in the seat cushion) the airbag is switched off to the paassenger seat, but small children should always be in a approved child seat in the back seat anyway.
