Hi,
Had the same problem a few years back. It may be a gear shift cable. I had to replace mine. The job is about $450, the part and about 3 hrs labour

I had the same problem as well, the gear shift cable was the culprit. It just got harder and harder to put into park until one day... it wouldn't! We had to leave it in reverse the whole night before taking it in the next day.

Your transmission fluid level is low . Per your owners manual . it's time to have fluid and filter changed. Also it's a good idea to have system flushed

My car keeps cutting off in the middle of the road while I'm driving. What could be the problem. I have 85,000 miles on my car. I've changed the oil and had the transmission fluid changed as...

Why would you tell us about engine oil & trans fluid changes?

Out with the old oils & in with the new ?

I would lean towards a fuel pump binding up & stopping
fuel,thus the car shuts off

Only one suggestion, could be other causes

My altima seems sluggish when I press on the gas. It also humms a little bit. Could it be my exhaust? Do I need a tune up?I have 85,000 miles and haven't had any major problems so far.

85,000 miles. I hope their not the original spark plugs, air filter, gas filter, etc. Your flerting with break down maintanance.
If you haven't flushed the Transmission,Power Steering,Brake Fluid,Coolant,Etc,your also going to be sorry down the road, and have some major repair bills.

So, you think this is a transmission problem? Have you had the trans seviced lately, filter, fresh fluid, is the fluid lever good? You have to check the transmission fluid level with the engine idling in "PARK". Chrysler products use a special fluid so make sure you put the right stuff in it.

Tranmission seems to come out of gear at various speeds.

Make sure you have the right transmission fluid chrysler has a special type of trasmission fluid I believe it ATF+4. change the fluid and filter and the add three quarts of ATF+4 and one quart of "Lucas transmission slip. This should fix the problems. Mike
