Open the tailgate on the side of the light are two screws you remove and then light pops out you may have to pry gently, then push the lock lever on the light socket in while you turn to remove it from lamp asm, then reverse to install.

How do i change out my rear brake light bulb

Instructions on how to change the bulbs should be inside your owners manual.But here you go;

Lift the tailgate and ensure that it is properly supported.
  • 3 Remove the two screws at the top of the taillight assembly with a Phillips screwdriver. Set both screws together, to the side of your work area.
  • 4 Grasp the taillight assembly horizontally on the left and right. Slowly pull the assembly toward you and away from the truck's frame. Use care while you're pulling the taillight assembly as there will still be wiring connected to it. Once the assembly is away from the frame lay it down on the bumper.
  • 5 Remove the brake light socket from the taillight assembly. Rotate the socket a quarter-turn counter-clockwise to unlock it from the assembly. Withdraw the socket slowly from the hole on the taillight assembly to avoid breaking the brake light bulb.
  • 6 Remove the brake light bulb from its socket by grasping it between three fingers and pulling it straight out of the socket. Put on some latex gloves before you touch the new brake light bulb.
  • 7 Place a small hairline bead of dielectric grease on the metal contacts at the base, on both sides of the brake light bulb. If the grease gets anywhere on the glass portion of the bulb, discard it and start with a fresh bulb. This grease is not absolutely necessary.
  • 8 Insert the brake light bulb back into its socket. Push down on the bulb gently until it seats itself.
  • 9 Now that it's connected carefully insert the bulb into the socket back through the hole on the taillight assembly. Lock the socket back in place by rotating it a quarter-turn clockwise. Do not over rotate the socket. When it locks in place, you stop rotating.
  • 10 Lift the taillight assembly up off the bumper. Position it so that it's ready for re-installation. Push the assembly back into place on the frame. Make sure that all of its wires are tucked back behind it and that no wires get pinched.
  • 11 Reinstall the two mounting screws and tighten them a quarterturn past hand tight. Shut the lift gate door.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE REAR BULB ON A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE

Asuming you mean taillight/turnsignal, and not highmounted brake light:
    1.open the trunk
2.Remove 4 wingnuts on trunk trim (there are two on each side)
You can do it by only removing 2 on one side, but it makes a nicer job,
3.Pull back the trunk "trim" the carpeted cardboard
4.Remove 2 wingnuts which hold the taillight assembly in place
Pull out the taillight assembly; you might want to remove (i.e. unattach or unplug) the wiring harness
5.Turn the particular bulb's socket (there's 5 back there: 2 tail, 1 back up, 1 side marker, 1 brake/turn) counterclockwise, and it removes from the assembly, holding the bulb.
    6. Pull out bulb and replace.
    6. Reverse steps to reassemble.

Left brake light dont work when brake peddel is applied

    Replace the bulb,
    1. Open the lift gate on the rear of your Blazer or drop it if you have the tail gate that folds down. Locate the screws on the inner edge of the lift gate frame. There are two screws--remove them with a Phillips screwdriver.
    2. Slide the taillight assembly out of the rear of the truck, being careful to not break the locating tabs on the rear of the housing. Locate the bulb sockets on the rear of the taillight assembly.
    3. Rotate the light bulb socket counterclockwise about a quarter turn to unlock it from the taillight assembly. Pull the socket straight out of the assembly with the bulb attached to it.
    4. Remove the bulb from the socket by pulling it straight out of the socket. If you are removing the entire assembly from the truck, remove the remaining sockets from the rear of the taillight assembly, lay them aside and remove the assembly completely.
    5. Reinstall everything in revers and don't for get to *** some grease to your socket before you place the new bulb in place and test the operation of the new bulb before you reinstall the tail light.
Thank you for using fixya and here is the bulb you need for the trail light. The 1999 Blazer uses a 3057 bulb available at most auto parts stores.

How to change a tail light bulb in a honda element

Open the hatch and the tailgate.

Remove the two mounting screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver, and remove the taillight assembly from the body by pulling it back.

Determine which of the three bulbs is burned out: brake/taillight, turn signal light or backup light. (I assume you’ve already determined this)

Remove the socket by turning it one-quarter turn counterclockwise.

Pull the bulb straight out of its socket.

Push the new bulb straight into the socket until it bottoms.

Reinstall the socket into the light assembly by turning it clockwise until it locks.

Test the lights to make sure the new bulb is working.

When reinstalling the taillight assembly, first place the two pins in the holes in place. Tighten the two mounting bolts.

Hope this is helpful to you.

How do you replace brake light bulbs

    1. Slide your fingers beneath the carpeted trunk trim and peel it away from the trunk's interior.
    2. Remove the four wing nuts that fasten the taillight assembly to the car. Place the nuts in your pocket or a small bag for safekeeping.
    3. Lift the taillight assembly away from your Grand Am's body. Press the five restraining tabs to release the assembly plate from the lens cover.
    4. Pull the defective bulb directly out of its socket and replace it with the new bulb. Once it's secure, press the assembly plate back into place.
    5. Test the new light to make sure it's working. If the bulb lights up, attach the lens cover, fasten the wing nuts and replace the trunk trim.

    Hello!

    1. Open the trunk by using the driver's side trunk release latch or by manually unlocking it.
    2. Peel back the trunk liner to expose the wiring connector and taillight housing plastic retainers.
    3. Disconnect the wiring connector, loosen the plastic retainers and remove the taillight assembly from the car.
    4. Twist the turn signal bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the taillight assembly. Then, pull the malfunctioning bulb straight out of the socket.
    5. Insert the replacement bulb directly into the empty socket and then twist the socket back into the taillight assembly.
    6. Reinstall the tail light assembly.
    7. Activate the turn signal to make sure it's working. If it lights up, fasten the trunk lining back into place and close the trunk

    Brake light bulb replacement.

Remove panel in trunk (round one on each side) reach inside unscrew toggle bolt then remove the entire taillight assembly, may have to push from inside. When you have the taillight assembly out you will see where the bulb is on the back of the assembly, remove and replace with new bulb. Put taillight assembly back in, replace toggle bolt make sure it is tight and replace panel. It is a pain the first time but I have done this 3 or 4 times it gets easier.

Replacement of rear outside tail light assembly

If you're asking how do you change a taillight bulb, then follow this procedure:

    Open the trunk lid.

Disconnect the connectors from the taillights (taillight bulb connectors are visible by looking inside the trunk at the back of the tail lamps.) There may be an interior trunk trim panel that you have to take off but in most cases its just a series of thumb screws that hold them in.

    Brake Lights/Taillights: 21/5 W

Rear Turn Signal Light: 21 W

    Back-up Light: 21 W

Rear Side Marker Light: 5 W

Turn the bulb sockets 45 º counterclockwise to remove the bulbs.

If you're removing the taillamps with the bumper off there are 3 nuts and screws that hold the taillight to the rear panel of the car that have to come off from the inside of the trunk.
Remove the nuts and screws, then remove the taillight.

    hope that answers your question

How do I change brake light bulb on 2005 Nissan Altima

The first objective is to figure out which bulb you need. I had to replace the bulb for the largest light which was a Sylvania 3157. The next objective is to remove the dang plastic carpet holder/net clip. Recognize that it is a two part piece. Use a flathead screwdriver for leverage. Pry the cap off by levering the screwdriver in the slot on the holder. Then go behind the carpet and pinch the plastic pin still holding the holder in place. Next, pry off the while plastic pieces from the two bolt/nuts you'll need to remove (see manual). Remove the nuts and give the two screws a push from the inside so you can see how the whole light casing comes off. Pry it off from the outside. On the backside of the bulb holder, turn bulb base counterclockwise and gently remove. Pull bulb upward and replace. Do not touch glass on new bulb with your fingers (wear non-powdered rubber gloves). Make sure the bulb snaps in place. Follow these instructions in reverse. Smile, you just learned something new and saved yourself some easy money.
