First give it a complete tune up if it continues then try the throttle position sensor

Where do you put starting fluid in 1989 ford f150

You would spray it into the throttle body by removing the rubber hose between the body and the air cleaner box.
Open the throttle plate before you spray.

I have a 1990 Ford F-150 5.0 with a no start issue. I have spark, fuel, and air. fuel pressue 40 psi, good compression. I had to replace the tps.

Check that the TPS was installed correctly. If not, she won't start. You have to align it with the slot in the throttle-body housing and turn it slightly to seat it onto the hole correctly.

My 1991 Ford F150 won't idle when cold, backfires when I accelerate, loses power when accelerating. I have replaced the fuel pump,egr,distributor,02 sensor, computer, all the sensors are brand new.I have...

Did you also change the Coolant Temperature Sensor? If it is reading wrong, the computer may not realize the engine is cold, and won't increase the gas for that.
Spray some carb cleaner around the outside of the throttle shaft, if engine speed increases, that could be a vacuum leak. I've never heard of that, but anything is possible. It sounds like it would have to be a serious air or vacuum leak to cause your problem. Have you blocked off the power brake booster to check if that is leaking?

You might want to do a compression test to see if there is any internal mechanical damage.

We have a 1990 f-150 it wont start but will crank

Take some throttle body cleaner and spray it into the throttle body then try to start it. If it fires up for a second then shuts off you need to change fuel pump or fuel filter. If that dont work check for spark. check the distributers cap and rotor. Also check the coil to see if your getting any spark from there

I have a 2001 Mazda tribute it cranks but won't start.

You need 3 things for a car to start. Air, Fuel, Spark. Take some throttle body cleaner and spray it in the throttle body, If it starts you are not getting fuel. Use a spark tester and check if you have spark if not check crank position sensor, and coils. And obviously check your air filter box for anything keeping air from coming in.

make sure the car is on a flat surface ,you can pour a little bit of gas down the throttle body or spray starter fluid in throttle body that should crank the car

Truck will crank put will not start

Spray some starting fluid in throttle body if it starts then your fuel pump is bad also check to see if you are getting spark at the plugs. Its one of the two.

2002 ford taurus won't start at first crank in the morning

remove the air filter housing from the throttle body, or if its mult-ported injection, remove the large air duct. Do this the night before. The next day, before cranking and having a spray can of carb. cleaner, spray a couple of shots of carb cleaner either into the large air duct, spray towards the engine, or if its single body injection, spray directly on to the throttle body.

Crank engine immediately, preferrably have some one else sitting in the car to start it after you spray.

If the car even tries to start, replace cold start relay.
