Usually it is tucked into the front corner of the left front fender (sometimes right front), it is usually a black plastic sphere about eight inches in diameter. it will have several rubber hoses attached to it.
Ask your Ford parts dept if you can't find it, they can show you a diagram.

What engine could i put in my 03 f150 other than a 5.4L triton cause I've bought two and I'm not going for three .all I've heard is only 5.4L ....just can't believe it.

According to this page, If you have the 4R100 transmission then your only replacement while keeping the trans is the 5.4L.
If you have the 4R70W then you can also use the 4.3L V6 and the 4.6L Triton V8. You may have to change computer transmission shift points but between the two Tritons it probably doesn't make much difference.

2006 ford f150 4x4 crew cab 5.4 v8 has fuel odor in cab

Other than a fuel leak, the most likely cause is the filter pad in the charcoal evaporative canister, which is usually located in front of the engine near the radiator.

Locate fuel emissions canister diagram on f 150 1997

Look directly behind and above your gas tank near the spear tire. It should look like a black metal tube with a hose that runs over and connects into your fuel system right behind where you put your gas in. Hope that helps. Should be pretty easy to spot if you cant see it just follow the tube in from your filling line only two ways to go, gas tank or charcoal canister.
