This code should be in your glove box with manualy, and you use the preset staition buttons to enter this code. if code is not found then radio has to be removed and serail # recorded then go to dealer with registration to prove ownership and they will give you the code.the code is on a card the size of a credit card. hope this is helpful.

Replaced battery. Need code to reset radio. '99

You can usually find the code on the bottom side of the ash tray, if your car has one. Or you can may have to pull the radio. It should be stamped on it somewhere.

Replaced battery in 1996 Honda Accord which deactivated radio.

You need to code ..punch in code then power radio up and it will work. For a fee if its the original radio for this car the code can be retrieved by the dealer. If you entered to code incorrectly more than 4 times you will need to disconnect battery for 30 second and re-enter code. good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

Radio code We had to unhook the battery to replace the headlights. Now it needs the radio code. The dealership (not the one we purchased it at) says it will be $99 to tell us what it is. Any advice?

To get your code you will need :
1) Car Vin #
2) Radio serial # ( should be located in the glovebox, as you open it look at the inside of the drawer. There also might be a radio code TOO ; if you can't find neither radio code, nor radio serial #, then look what to do a few lines below)
3) prove of car ownership ( title, Registration)

You then take all this to Honda dealer and they will give oyu a code for FREE. This is how I got mine from Honda dealer.
At least they should. If they refuse to, go to and enter all that info and you should receive a code ( footnote: your personal info, phone # , zipcode should match those on file with Honda.)
If you don't know your radio serial #:

Turn the key into ignition on, then turn the radio on ( You should see CODE on display), then turn the radio off, push 1 and 6 preset radio stations buttons simultaneosly and hold them while turning the radio back on - you will see then letter U and some numbers ( ignore U , and write down those #, then you will see another set of numbers along with letter L, ignore L , and write down those numbers. Combine numbers from first set of # with those from second set -- THIS IS YOUR RADIO SERIAL #.

Now having all this info you may dealer for a code Free of Charge.
You then enter the code dealer gave you and voila your radio is unlocked.

If you entered wrong code 10 times then the radio locks itself up and won't accept codes. Your actions: 1) either disconnet negative cord on your battery and then connect it back or 2) remove the fuse associated with radio from fuse box, wait for a minute and put it back in. Now you can enter your code again.

I got this info online reading multiple forums and succesfully unlocked my radio.
