The most common power steering leak in these cars if from the fluid cooler line - it runs straight down from the pump, behind the frame, then up to the rack. if the leak looks like its coming from the passengers feet area, this is the leak. very common. unfortunately, it is slightly beyond the scope of a home repair as the front frame needs to be dropped down slightly to gain access to change the line. the line costs aprox. $150 CDN and i believe about 1.5 - 2 hours shop time for labor. good luck!

2003 Ford Explorer My rear wiper fluid is pouring out under the truck when I try to wash the rear window. It looks like it is coming out under the passenger seat. How do I fix it?

It's a loose / broken hose running from the washer fluid reservoir to the windshield wiper. Trace the hose and look for the leak. May need to pull up the back seat since that seems to be where the leak is.

I'm having problems with the there powersteering for this particular car

Yes, you do have power steering. Exactly what is going on with the steering? Does the steering wheel seem to be jerking or twitching as you turn? You may be able to pour in some Honda steering fluid (or Import Fluid Approved for Honda). It will be a red cap to the right as you are looking at the engine. If this fixes the problem temporarily, then you need to find where it is leaking from to fix it.

Power steering fluid leaks, rack replaced approx a year ago

May have a failure in the replaced rack. I would take it back to the shop that did the work for warranty. If you got a remanufactured rack it was re-built and may have had major problems that were not fixed with the rebuild.

1996 GMC Suburban Brake and Power Steering Failure

Daan,it sounds like you have hydraulic assisted brakes you should be able to trace the lines from the PS pump or steering gear box to the master cylinder,if the power steering is low on fluid refill it and have someone turn the steering wheel to one side or the other while you watch for leaks in the lines.if this helps you to locate the leak, just go to your local parts store and pick up a replacement.

I have a porsche 996 carrera which started making a whineing noise on the way home this morning. It seems to get faster in relation to the revs, but it's louder when at a slow speed and turrning the wheel....

If there is no leak underneath the car it means that probably your power steering fluid reservoir is empty. The best way to locate the leak is to pour in a little bit of p/steering fluid, start the engine, turn the steering wheel and then have a look underneath the car. It is probaly a flexible hose which has burst.
