Question about 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
Hi first of all check the battery has a full charge to do this turn the head lights on and put them on high beam then try turning the key to start the car, if the lights go off then you have a flat battery, if the lights stay bright then keep reading.
now when you turn the key see if you can hear the clicking noise coming from the bottom of the engine if you can then all you need to do is get the starter motor replaced.
you can sometimes get it started by giving the starter motor a couple of hits with a hammer but dont rely on this working for long as it could leave you stuck.
if you have auto gear box then try moving it up and down to make sure its in correct position to start the engine.
if you have a manual box, then if you can get some one to give you a good push you can get the car starter, get a couple of people to push you whilst you have the car in 2nd gear and the ignition on with the clutch to the floor, then when your moving quite quick let the clutch up this should then turn the engine and get it started for you.
Now if the clicking noise is coming from the fuse box or dashboard then this means your having big problems it points to the fact your having problems with the imobiliser it could just be that you need the key fob replacing the only way of finding out is by taking the fob toy your nearest main dealer and also take your vehicles documents to prove you own the car then ask them to check if the key fob is working as it could be this thats causing the anti theft to stay on.
i hope i have given you enough to be getting on with, give me a shout back if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts. thanks
