The code is not P106, but PO106. The code can be caused byBad MAP sensor,Water/dirt intrusion affecting MAP sensor connector, Intermittent open in the reference, ground, or signal wire for the MAP sensor, Intermittent short in the reference, ground, or signal wire for the MAP sensor, Ground problem due to corrosion causing intermittent signal problem , Bad PCM.

Those are typical causes, when you get this code 9 on ten it is a wiring problem that may often cause intermittant failure, along with MAP sensor replace the wiring cable to PCM.

You can test if a wire is good by using a multimeter set on Ohms. If the multimeter reads open (Ohms=infinity), then the wire is bad. Start testing from sensor connector on air intake side. Disconnect battery ground first, Ohm reading is done with no power.

This is the piecemeal approach to automotive maintenance. Take your Buick to a competent mechanic to have stored codes retrieved which will identify probable causes for the problems you are experiencing.

Map Sensor or Crank Sensor. If you have a code reader the map sensor should throw a code, the crank sensor most often will not. Both will cause the car to start, idle to around 1,000 R's and then die.

What pins on the ECU wire harnes does the ECU use on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport

The vacuum line on top of the EGR is required for propper vehicle operation. The vacuum line is what opens the valve when the solenoid is comanded on. As for the MAP sensor check the injector/MAP sensor harness right by the driver side corner of the rear head. The harness tends to melt and cause rough running conditions and misfires. So would the EGR which is a common issue and yes the the whole assembly should be replaced.

2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport 3.3 Wifes van started running very rough last week while in slow moving traffic then stalled out. Code showed "map sensor", got a new one and installed. No change....

A bad vacuum line will cause this code also. Also it will cause a rough idle and stalling. Open the hood and listen for a hissing sound. track it and you,ll find the leak. Also I would just check all the lines to make sure another in not ready to go.

This sounds like it could be related to a bad TPS. When you have a bad Throttle Position Sensor, it can put too much fuel into the system causing all sensors down the line to be clogged. The MAP sensor you replaced may already be bad again.

I commend you on your tenacity. I guess the code is P0172. So you have metered air due the the MAP and IAT in combination and good engine coolant signal but still too rich and runs rough. It all points to a leaky fuel pressure regulator valve.
