Yes, wire or switch. Trace back from the solinoid until you get the 12 volts the solinoid should get with key in the "start" position.

I've changed the alternater,starter, voltages

Troubleshoot first and then change parts! What was the original problem? It just won't crank over? The alternator just charges the battery the voltage regulator keeps from putting too much of a charge into the battery. Was the battery going dead? Did the vehicle start when jumping it with jumper cables? Too many unanswered questions to offer help, sorry.

Have a 1997 chv caviler wont start new fule pump new starter and coil packs what eals could it be

Check for the voltage of the battery. If it is less than 12.7v chances of starting up would be slim. You may want to jump start the car by connecting it to another car's battery. If it starts, it is a battery issue. If it does not, inspect the wiring. It may also be a starter replay problem or just bad terminals.

98 chevy cavalier 2.2....replaced starter...car wont turn over..no clicking...battery ok. car will start by jump starting the starter with a screw driver...replaced fuses...any idea what could be wrong?

Sounds like bad battery cables and/or ignition switch. I would clean battery cables thoroughly with wire brush especially the bottom end since they're exposed to road grime, etc... Also check to make sure you put small wires on solenoid on correctly. I've seen people get them reversed because they're looking at them upside down when attaching from under car. More than likely it's those small wires on solenoid.

Wont start truck tried new battery also taken to machanic and they dont know......beeps like its starting but wont start vehical..prostart car starter

Check all your starter wires. Make sure they are all tight. Then If you can see the two posts on the starter solenoid (not the starter) jump them with a screwdriver. If starter engages it could be an ignition swich.

97 cavalier wont start when turning key nothing happens

if the starter motor doesn't turn at all, and all you hear is a clicking then the starter is bad and the solenoid is good

if the starter is turning and the car still doesn't start then the starter motor is slipping and is bad

to check the solenoid put a jumper from the main battery lead (Large Red) to the ignition wire switch (Smaller Purple) is the starter operates the solenoid and starter are ok and you problem is in the ignition switch, or nuetral switch, or wiring.

Wont start

Try replacing the negative and positive battery cables. Sounds like that could be your problem.
