Question about 2002 Kia Sedona

1 Answer

2002 KIA Sedona, oil spilled all over garage. I took it to Firestone to change oil. They said a "cam cap" was pushed up causing it to leak. They showed me the part-it was a small plastic or rubber cap(like the kind you plug up a piggybank with. They said they could not find the part, called the dealer who was searching for it. Five days later they get the part and its the wrong fit. They put my van back together, and said drive it with caution or you can ruin your engine, and we will keep looking for the part. I feel like I am being lied to and can't find anything about this anywhere.

Hi something not right for a start the cam caps sit at the end of the head on the right hand side of the head and are always made of a metal due the the heat from the engine so you could never have a plastic cam cap due to heat it would just melt ? i advise you to take it to another garage for a second look

My 2002 kia sedona won't idle until warms up, dies when put into gear ...any ideas??

Is the check engine light on? you could have a bad ignition fail sensor, TPS sensor, or bad o2 sensor. it could also be a bad mass air flow sensor or a vacuum leak. without a code to help pin point the problem I'd start by checking those things first. Maybe try unplugging the mass airflow sensor and start it up and see if anything changes.

2005 Kia Sedona A/C Unit/Alternator - Info Needed

hello. there is only a small amount of oil in the a/c system, about 1/8th of a cup so that's not the leak your seeing. they probably didn't tighten the oil filter good enough or stripped the drain plug. the a/c is probably not working because they unhooked a line and now the seal is leaking. you need to put in some leak detection die into the a/c system to see where its leaking. also you can test the Freon pressure with a gauge you can buy at an auto parts store. Make sure you check the engine oil level so you don't seize the engine from running with no oil.

If it is pink it could be trans fluid coming in thru the cooler lines.

2002 kia sedona missing when takeing off and going up hills check engine light is on. started gradually now does it all the time.oil is full and coolent is good.has over 111,000 miles

I had this same problem at 113,000 miles on my Sedona and I replaced the spark plugs and wires and it took care of this missing. It's an expensive job unless you do it yourself. However, the check engine light came back on so I have to replace the o2 sensor also. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to change the spark plugs. This is the best information you will find for changing spark plugs on a Sedona.
