This kind of problem usually is caused by a bad ground. although im not familar with your model car alot of cars have an access plate in the trunk. if you can access the the top of the tank use a wire with alligator clips and go from the negative side of the pump assembly to the body. if the gauge then stops jumping problem solved. this can also be an internitten power issue and it can be check with the same wire to the cars power source

Cylinder one on monte carlo 2003

If the code is 301 it means there is no power from that cylinder. It could be a problem with the ignition, fuel injector, or something mechanical.

the key needs to be placed in the run position, then I think there is a button or pin on the cylinder body that must be pushed in to pull the lock cylinder out.

I have a 1998 Chev Monte Carlo SS, The engine turns over but doesn't start. It seems to not be getting fuel but am not sure.

disconnect the hose that goes into the fuel injectors rail, put it into an empty coke bottle and ask for a friend to put the ignition switch in the on position. if there isn't gas going into the bottle, then you should check for the fuel pump relay and if it's ok then check the fuel pump. Check the fuel pump fuse too.

My 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo ss has a miss. Rpm gauge jumps up an down while driving. Has new air filter, plugs an wires. Other suggestions?

Stop by any good parts store and have them do an OBII scan (fault scan) Most will do it FREE. They'll pull codes and identify what is causing your "miss"

2000 monte carlo no gas no spark new fuel pump good modual and coils help! camshaft crankshaft???

No gaurantees, but it most likely needs a crankshaft sensor. That sensor triggers both the spark and the fuel injectors.

My 2000 monte carlo ss with a 3800 engine tends to start and stall about six times befor running, I pulled 3 codes 0108, 0404, and 1404 from the the computer .

I believe the codes are emmission related. I would have the fuel pump pressure checked. The fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator seems to be the failrue. The restarting of the engine several times is making the system build up enough pressure to start running . I would take to a shop to have the fuel pressure checked.
