Why does speedometer/odometer work intermittently?

Pull your negative battery cable for 30 min see if it resets your sytem. Guages should jump up and drop back then work perfectly. Had to do this with my 2005 monte carlo

Manual trans fluid is checked by removing the fill plug located on the transmission on the driver's side. it is a 1/2" square drive flush mounted plug.

1996 Nissan Pickup will not start sometimes. If I tap on ther battery termials it starts up. The battery seems fine; not weak. What gives?

FOR SOME REASON THE WIRES WHICH ARE CONNECTED TO THE PLUG CONNECTED TO THE POSITIVE POST ON THE BATTERY DEVELOP A SHORT OR CAN BREAK> I had a wire connect my heading to break as I was driving at night! What an experience.

Cool weather, pickup won't idle after driving 2

Check the heating element/heater-plug. The heating-element or hearter-plug heats the gas before getting into the engine. A shop manual is good to guide you.

ODOMETER STOPED WORKING.

The gear on the end of the odometer cable probably has excessive wear which causes the odometer cable to spin. It is not completely worn out or it would not function at all; however, the fix is probably going to be the same as if it were broken; i.e., remove your present cable and replace with a new one.
