Question about 2004 Toyota Tacoma
Two possibilites are to be confirmed for this fault.
1. If the engine is driving in level ground with enough power and there is no flutter when you power the vehicles inlevel ground then the fault is associated with a tilt .In this case we need to check if the fuel lines are faulty , the filter is clogged. the tank is to be checked or the fuel pressure on the pump.. a malfunction of the pump to deliver less fuel to make it splutter.
2. However is the fault is noticed at all times specially with load as in the case of driving up hill , then the fault is relative to the general condition of the engine.
You must have the electric and fuel system checked out well.. the usual points of checks like the firing, fuel delivery, fuel filter, etc,
Have the car tuned up with correct timing , idling and high RPM perrformance.
check on all four wheels for any friction, brake problems.
Hope the vehicle has been for sceduled maintenance before the issues came or else get this done for the mileage clocked.
Hope this advice is helpful.
