Question about 2007 Honda Odyssey

1 Answer

How do I remove my 2007 Honda Odyssey DVD Player? The DVD player is broken now... (took it to car audio place - they took it out and cleaned it (after it had coke spilled inside from a McDonalds cup being left in the cup holder above for 4 days.... sigh. I was not impressed with my wife after that one). They cleaned it re-installed and it still won't work. I found a couple places online that sell used/refurbished Odyssey DVDs (for less than buying the $1500 replacement from the dealership). But I would like to save myself even more additional costs by having to take the replacement player in to have it installed. Does anyone have a slideshow or video on how to perform this? I think I have to take the lower console out (got the sides out, tried to unscrew the front of the console - but it still won't budge). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I hope the above link helps you to remove your DVD player if it's in the same place as the CD/Navigation unit on this page.

Thanks Duane! Unfortunately, I found that link online already, it is not relavant to my Odyssey's setup. The DVD player in my 07 - is located in the lower console (underneath the pullout cupholder) and above the (heated seats buttons, cigarette lighter plugs and pullout storage bin). I need to find a way to remove the lower console or how to pull out the DVD player without damaging the moulding. Does it require a special tool? Or can I just use a plain old screwdriver... Unfortunately, I have never done car audio work before, so I am unfamiliar with the process of removing such a device. Thanks for your quick response though - i appreciate the assistance!

Maybe try alldata.com, but you'll have to pay for that service... I'm not sure how much.

The 2007 Honda Odyssey is listed as a supported vehicle there, and alldata is based on the Chilton manuals.

if it's not something easy, most replace it. it's cheaper that real repairs.

Honda odyssey 2007 DVD player can be heard but not seen. Any ideas besides spending a fortune at the dealer

There are plenty of Audio/electronics repair guys around. All the dealer will do is sell you a new player. Ask friends and perhaps the guys at radio shack if they know anyone who can repair a printed circuit board. The RS guys are usually pretty nerdy. Good luck.

2007 Honda Odyssey DVD player not receiving any power. All other electronics working fine but no power to DVD. Dealer told me I needed a new dvd system. Is there any other solution I should try first?

you could take the DVD system down and check for power to the back of the player. if there is power then you will need a new player. if no power then check the wires/connections.

My 2007 Honda Odyssey's DVD player is scratching my DVD's. It;s al;ready been replaced and the new one is doing the same thing. Is it the inexpensive equipment or what?

It sounds like it is still a issue with the DVD Player, or the DVD Player mount. The Mount needs to be able to cushion road bumps and vibration or the DVD laser cannot read the disc and will wind up skipping and scratching the disc.

I have 2006 honda odyssey. i cannot use dvd system, because i cannot eject dvd. how can i eject dvd?

To eject the dvd from the dvd player you have to push the eject button on the dvd player, if the dvd is stuck inside the dvd player you have to get it checked by a service technician

Honda Odyssey dvd player not working after having battery jumped

If you disconnect your battery for an hour and then reconnect, the dvd will just pop right out. This happened to us, Honda did not know how to fix it and they wanted me to pay $400 for a new one. But while they were trying to figure it out they were sticking screwdrivers and pens into it and have now broken the whole system and refuse to pay for it.

Dvd player not working on 06 Honda Odyssey

The Honda dealer just wanted to replace my entertainment center without even troubleshooting and I wasn't convinced that it was "broken" so I found the FIXYA website and saw that others had the same problem and I followed their instructions and it now works fine. I am going to call the Honda dealer to complain because they should have known this.

We simply pulled the fuse out and put it back in and then reset the radio code!
