Rear wiper towards

Check to make sure the wiper arm is firmly attached to the shaft - it sounds like either the wiper came off of the shaft or there is an internal problem with the linkage between the wiper and the motor. Wire would have nothing to do with your problem.

If the wiper fell off of the shaft, there is a bolt or screw that holds the wiper arm on the shaft. The cover over the shaft should be pryed up to expose the screw.
If the arm is firmly attached to the shaft, then you will need to get inside of the assembly to repair.

2001 ford expedition broken wipers?

you need to remove the wiper arms first. thay must be in the highest position for removal. take your hand and move them to that point then remove the nut cover at the base of the arm and remove the nut, a wiper arm remover tool may be required if thay dont come off easy, this tool is available at your local auto parts store.then remove the panels that sorround the wiper arm studs from which you took the wiper arms from, these panels may have little plastic screw covers on them that need to be removed to reveal the screws that hold the panels down
