YOU HAVE A 12 POSITION POSITION IS LOCATED BENEATH THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE STEERING COLUMN OR LOCATED IN THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT AND SOME ON THE AIR CONDITIONED MODELS.LOOK FOR A BLOWN FUSE THAT MORE LIKELY THE THE FUEL PUMP FUSE.IF YOU REPLACE FUSE AND IT BLOWS AGAIN YOU HAVE SHORT IN FUEL PUMP WIRES.

How do I know if it is the fuel pump or the relay on a 92 vw jetta 1.8 4cyl?

you can jump the fuel injection relay. This will make the fuel pump run continuously--test only! You can hear the fuel pump run when you try to start the car. You can hook up a multimeter to the fuel pump plug to test for 12V. no volts at plug? then change relay or fuse.

My 92 jetta fuel does not always go on.. when i turn the key the buzz of the fuel pump does not go on. i by passed the relay it goes on i don't know what it could be. some-one told me it could be a ground

If you bypassed the relay and the pump ran, have you checked the relay is getting power, if it is then is then does the relay need replacing? if the relay clicks but there's no power on the output terminals has a fuse gone?

How to get injector pump for a voltswagon jetta

Wont happen, when gasoline settles for a long period of time the petrols start to thicken and becomes like a varnish, the pump is siezed and needs to be replaced. even if you did get it to restart it would be very unreliable

1989 jetta dies while driving after about 40 to 60 minutes

Under the dash is the fuel pump relay. When it gets hot after driving for a while, it will not turn on to power the fuel pump until it cools off. The relay is located above the fuse panel. There you'll find the row of relays.

Cant find fuel pump relay

Hey twinbullet,

For 93-98 Jetta models, the fuses and relays are located on the drivers side, behind the lower dash panel.

The fuel pump relay is in Position 12 (lower right corner)
