Did you find out what it was? I have the same thing on my 1999 Astro van. It seems like an electrical issue and it varies when I press the gas. I'm thinking fuel pump. It used to make the noise and then stop. Now it doesn't stop.

Remove the rear heater core on a 99 astro van

remove the inside trim panels on the left hand side. Most "snap" into place, but look for screws first before pulling on the panel edges.

Rear tires are making very loud noise, humming, its getting louder and louder

you either have a pulled belt in the tire or theres a separation in the tread belt and you need to have this checked soon as this tire could blow out at highway speed,if the noise is as bad as you say it is,jack up the van block the wheels and hand spin the tire and check and watch if it wobbles, has any flat spots, bulges wiggly tread in the tread face, just anything out of the ordinary

My suburban makes a loud, pulsing humming noise when I let of the acelerator. I know I am in bad need of an alignment. All my fluid levels are good. I have had someone say bearings, u joint, rear diff........

Most likely it's the bearings...they normally hum..but they get louder the faster you go...Try to tell the difference if the noise is coming from the back or the front...You also said all your fluids are good, but did you check your rear diff. fluid...An ailgnment has nothing to do with the noise...Now your u-joints they wont hum either, all that will do is either click real lound when uou first put it in drive or reverse...after that, if they get any worse, they will fall off, and your drive shaft will be on the floor...

How to disable the back-up signal noise on my 1999 chevy astro van

With the van in reverse (the engine can be off with the parking brake on) Find the beeper its just ahead of the rear bumper. The wire connected to it can be unplugged no other adverse reaction except the intention to noift unwariy persons that your going backwards. Cut just onr of the wires and connect them to a switch with wires run to the front of the truck where you can get to it and turn it on if you think you need it or lead it out. The vehical gets a better insurance rating with the beeper and if your van is windowless its a required inspection state idem

1994 Chevy Astro has two distinct noises. AT 40

Hey First thing I always look for is cheapest thing to repair or look at .. Make sure your tires are not cupping .. or make sure they are wearing good and smoothe all the way around .. this can make a terrible noise if they are cupped or worn improperly.. then I would Jack up one side and shake the rear wheels make sure those bearings are tight feeling .. you should be able to tell if they are loose this way ... I dont know how many miles are on your van but usually the drive line is not the problem.. this is probably last thing you need need to shake and see if there is play in it.. Holler if you need more and thanks Jerry

Wheel bearing is the most likely cause. Prob a 1.5-2 hour labor rate job in the shop.
