Question about 1985 Chevrolet Sportvan G20

I have a 1985 chevy g20 sportvan the tranny is slipping i need a new one it has a tubo 350 in it and i need to know how to tell if it is short or long

What your looking for is the length of the rear tail shaft housing on the transmission. You want to measure the length of the one on your vans transmission. You will need to get under your van and measure from where the drive shaft slides into the back of the transmission to one of the 4 bolts a the front of that housing.

  • A charging system "V" belt and a Power Steering Pump "V"belt. The size depends on AC or not and weather or not it is a manual transmission. I have provided a link for you so you have a place to order your belts from if you so choose. You can also see the belts you need.

Would suspect chaffed wire insulation grounding out possibly wiring harness running under the alternator bracket.

The fuse box on my 85 chevy G20 van, the top left fuse keeps blowing as soon as i put 1 in its a 30amp rate i cant tell what it goes to but im sure its the entrance lights none of them work what do i need...

Check your cigarette lighter, it may be shorted. Also check all interior lights for bad bulbs. If not need to know how good you are at electrical work. Next steps can be tricky. Let me know.

remove steering wheel, there is a spell torx bolt behind the blinker switch this has to be removed first then the key has to be but in the old lock can be removed when you turn and pull it out

Wheel alignment

make certain front spring height is correct and then set the toe to zero. when this vehicle was manufactured there was a service bulletin which addressed the tire wear issue.
