Question about 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS

1 Answer

I just bought a 2007 TBSS and it has quite a hard shift from 1-2. From what I have seen online, this appears to be quite normal, just want to make sure.

Hi yes the hard 1st to 2nd shift is pretty firm in these TrailBlazers. If the shift softens much or becomes delayed they will set a Check Engine Light. Happy motoring

one of your wheel speed sensors is reading slightly incorrect (showing at stop when first start to move) causing traction control to engauge. if you have a scan tool to read abs (EBCM) let off brake slowly and watch for a wheel speed sensor that does not show movement at the same time as others. remove rust from that sensor mounting surface or replace that hub/sensor assemble to correct your problem.

I have a 2006 yukon the engine is missing and the trans is shifting hard when u drive easy but if u get on it, it shifts perfect,i took it to shop they can't figure it out ,every where i take it t

In my opinion, the first thing you need to address is the misfire. This COULD be also causing the hard shifting.

Case in point, though not directly related was a 1996 Ford Explorer. Lady thought the transmission was going bad because of delayed and hard shifting.

Upon test drive and then investigation it was found the catalytic converter was partially plugged and after replacement, transmission shifted as normal. The engine wasn't 'breathing' correctly (too much back pressure) so the lower torque of the engine wasn't allowing the transmission to 'see' the power so a delayed and hard shift was the result.

In your case the engine isn't producing the correct amount of power due to the misfire at part throttle which could delay and harshen the shifts. While 'getting on it' would increase the RPMs and 'mask' the misfire so the transmission would appear to shift 'normal'.

Hope this makes sense and is of some help.

My 2007 dakota 4x4 quad cab has erratic shifting problem

The bolt pattern for a 2007 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab should be depicted in a diagram on the owner's manual of your vehicle. You can access the owner's manual for your 2007 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab online at the Dodge website. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Code p008 for cts cadillac

DTC P0008: Engine Position System Performance Bank 1

Have seen quite a few of these. Code is refering to a timing issue. CAr may also have a P0009 but most of the time only 8 appears. May want to see a dealer - Cadillac having some timing chain issues on CTS and STS. Could have a powertrain warranty repair....

Try the vacuum line to the kickdown solenoid. If its not cracked your tranny may need to be rebuilt. Flushing and filter may help also.

Transmission in 85 mercedes 300d shifts fine till it gets to 4th gear...makes a clank noise as it shifts...fluid level is OK...any ideas or suggestions on hoe to solve??

When the transmission-oil level is good and it's only 1 gear and your clutch isn't worn badly (= working normally, not like you can shift without (hardly) clutching), it's probably a bad tension-plate in the gearbox. Solving it means rebuilding the box or getting a replacement, both quite expensive.

1988 f-150 engine knock under load

If I remember correctly, that vehicle may have had a knock sensor, depending on which engine. A quick drive to parts store and ask if they have one, will help you identify & confirm whether your particular engine has one. Another thing I remember is that the 5.0L with O.D. were very often carboning up inside the engine causing "Ping/Rattle" under load & even caused the transmission to shift in & out of overdrive hard & more often at those times. Had older fellow driving it and it very rarely went over 50mph, so it happened quite a bit. Would always find at least 1 or 2 plugs carboned up pretty bad, maybe the odd bad plug wire, and when replaced, pinging & hard, erratic shifting would disappear & run smooth. Just too low of RPM's when at normal driving speeds of 50 mph to clean out the carbon. Anyway, if trouble codes don't indicate knock sensor problem, or other, then I would pull the plugs & take a good look at them for carbon. If they're carbon covered, 1 or 2 or more, I'd be tempted to spray some combustion chamber cleaner into the throttle body as directed on can, and clean it out good, with old plugs still in, then replace plugs with new & see what you get.

Just leased an 08 SS

I just leased my 2007 TBSS w/ 3SS, Safe and Sound, no sunroof, BOSE, no nav.
MSRP was $36k
Had a 2006 TBSS and did a 6 month pull ahead (turned it in and didn't have to pay the last 6 months of that lease).
GMAC had a $1k incentive on leases so that acted like a cap reduction payment.
No security since I was turning in a 2006.
Paid 1st and last month for a total of $885.
Monthly payment including state tax of $40 is $440.
Hope that helps.
