The TFI module is on the side of the distributor but I would recommend replacing the module and stator witch is inside the distributor..... Have you checked to see if you have voltage to the coil?

Maybe the gas pump or the ignition. Bring it to a near auto parts store and they will diagnose with a scanner.

You need to run a fault code test on the computer control module. To learn how go here. The code lists are there as well.

If its not starting up, have them (techs) or yourself check and make sure the timing is adjusted properly and the correct firing order on the distributor.

Replaced all fuel pumps on my 1988 ford f 150 v8 302 engine. still getting no gas, replaced the fuel pump relay and still no power to the fuel pumps. what could be the problem?

I went through alot of the same with my 89 f-150.does your truck have dual tanks.if so it could be a selector switch on the dash.my problem was a bare wire was grounding out to the frame, right about where the harness cuts across the frame to the tanks.also check your connectors for rust and corrosion. There also may be a fuel pump safety shut off switch that has tripped, these are usually located inside the cab on the passenger side under the dash near your heat ducts. good luck. Dale

I have an 89 ford f-150 cranks wont start got fire, timing is right, fuel pump is pumping

Hi,
Since you're sure that you are getting gas and fire and timing is right... (also check firing order), has anything been done recently that could help you locate the problem? Such as removed distributor (could be 180 degrees out)? New plug wires (maybe crossed)?
All else I could recommend is checking cylinder compression (In case the valves are the problem)... The engine timing chain could need replacing...
Hope this helps... Good luck!

Spray starting fluid near the carburator if equipped. It may be a leaking main gasket under the carb.If you spray and the engine turns off. It is a vacuum leak. meaning the main gasket under the carburator .
