YOU MORELY HAVE TO DETACH THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES FROM THE RETAINERS AT THE OIL PAN AND CAREFULY POSITION THE LINES ASIDE DO NOT BEND OR KINK THE LINES.

DISCONNECT POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE THAT WILL GIVE YOU MORE SLACK TO DROP STARTER DOWN ENOUGH TO REMOVE IT.

The procedure is as follows:--Jack up the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Then disconnect the positive post on the battery. The starter is connected to the battery. Crawl beneath the truck and unbolt the heat shield, if the truck is equipped with one, using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket set.If heat shield is not in your vehicle the ignore this option. Unbolt all wiring from the starter using 3/8-inch ratchet and sockets. Pull out one of the two bolts that hold the starter to the block. Support the starter with one hand, and with your other hand slowly pull the second bolt. The starter is surprisingly heavy, although manageable, so don't unbolt it without first supporting the starter properly. Remove the starter from the truck.
Now once the starter is removed.Install the new starter in reverse procedure.Dont forget to connect the start battery terminal properly.Otherwise you will have starting problem.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

My 2006 dodge durango 2wd v8 would not start wouldn't even turn over has power battery good

CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE POWER TO SMALL WIRE ON STARTER WHILE TRYING TO CRANK IT. IF YOU HAVE POWER, THAN SUSPECT STARTER. TRY TAPPING STARTER WITH HAMMER, THIS SOMETIMES WORKS.

The car wouldn't start this morning battery is less than 1yr. old heard clicking sound so i bought a new starter can't find where it is and now the car started just fine? 1997 chevy sub. 1500 2wd. v-8

Often, if the car sometimes cranks and sometimes doesn't, the problem you're describing can be caused by loose battery connections. Check that the battery terminal connectors are clean and connected securely.

How much would a starter for a 1997 Chevy Blazer

If you are replacing it yourself, the factory starter is $167. The range for aftermarket starters is between $90 and $170, plus the core charge. If you are going to have a shop do it, they have no right to charge more than one hour labor for this. Starter replacement is one of the easiest of the repairs. You disconnect your battery, detach the cable on the starter, remove the bolts holding it in and pull it out. The new one goes in in the reverse order.

i hope this helps

1997 Chevy 1500 pickup 2wd v8, stepping down on brake bubbles master cylinder checked all lines checked all wheels and bleed ABS system, still have bubbles. Master cylinder is new. Any ideas?

One of the wheel cylinders is leaking, pulling air back into brake system and it's going back to the4 master cylinder. Look for brake fluid leaking at one of the wheel cylinders, that's where the problem is.
